Pen88n:
u're welcome, Pen88....thanks.....
Thanks, Augmum :hugs: . You are the best, always patiently answering we newbies DHS parents' questions :snuggles: !Augmum:
During my gal's yr, there was a Tea session held on the PTM day.
( oh yes, i recalled that we parents, here, were complaining why must we pay for the PTM,
and the refreshments offered were :slapshead: lol)
U would be sitting with the FT on the same table.
There was no time allocation to meet diff subj teachers,
U would need to move fr 1 table to another, if u wanna to meet and talk to the subj Ts,
T's names were clearly displayed on each table.
And yes, it was a saturday's afternoon.......provided there is no change.
Pen88n:
No worry....Like that I must get my DS to give me list of subject teachers, then scrutinised the tables to look for teachers  ! Ok, seems like afternoon leave is enough
So, the teachers do not have a list of \"must meet\" parents - those that they want to see to highlight student's \"inadequacies\" Moreover, it is so open (not one-to-one) so when teacher communicate to parents, all other parents can hear since they are sitting around the table?
Must tell DS he better be good and do ok, else everyone is going to know about his reputation! :rotflmao:
You will be given the list of the subject teachers' names on that day,
u only need to know which class yr child is in
Oh yes, def no privacy in this case as there are parents crowding ard the teacher.
I think for any sensitive issue, usually parent would arrange with the teacher on another day for discussion. -
Hi
Re PTM with the teachers, what happens if parents have to work full day on Saturdays and itβs not possible to take leave? Can we arrange for a separate day to meet? or do we have to do it over the phone? -
Augmum:
DS did not mention anything about the briefing. He said that the test is compulsory though.
Nightrace,Nightrace:
Hi Augmum, saw your post in RV thread regarding HSK. Didn't know that there is this oral component. Was it stated in the memo? Maybe I have missed it.
Thanks for sharing.
How yr son feels abt today's briefing on the HSK test ??
Gal feedback that it was a waste of time of 2 over hrs sitting in LT,
And pupils were making noises abt the whole briefing,
which was so slow-paced and time consuming......
As they want an earlier dismissal so as they can make use of the time for chionging other stuff which are more urgent,
Some of them even had CCA to attend to.....
Btw, she said that the examples of questions given by the speaker (trial paper) were so Easy, as compared to their HCL std.
Also, there is no oral component,
dunno why the other day her teacher told them that there would be an oral test,
even prepared them for oral test by doing class presentation. :?
And yes, she heard from her frens that some classes' chinese teachers made it optional to take this test,
But for her class, her CL teacher made it compulsory for every1 ?? :scratchhead:
I asked him to consult his CL teacher whether to take grade 5 or 6 and I think he is taking 5. -
Pen88n:

But we were only given a few minutes with each teacher and there was a student besides as a time-keeper.

You can give a call or drop an email to inform the FT, request him/ her to help to inform all subject teachers to contact you if they have any issue with your child.
So far, in my case, the teachers are very helpful and pro-active. They are more ganchiong than me. -
Hi Nighttrace
Thank You. I will email the FT. -
