As a driver, I have encountered reckless pedestrians and fellow motorists. As a pedestrian, I have encountered reckless motorists and fellow pedestrians who have left their brains at home.

Was almost mowed down once when this idiot made a turn too fast and lost control of his car and mounted the curb, went over a grass patch only coming to a stop when he rammed into the side of my office building. I had just parked my car and was walking along the pedestrian walk towards my office. Good thing my colleague called out to me and I waited for him. A few more steps and I would have been pavement pancake.

By the way, idiot not driving a continental car. It was a Honda Civic.

🤷 Why must people generalise like that?

Because I live to tell you this. I encountered so many instances myself so I can say this. Come to parking, anywhere, their mentality is the same.

So you have encountered every single continental car driver.
Come on...it;s obvious I meant majority. Why put words into my mouth? Are you a BMW driver? I am only sharing my experiences. Why must you be so defensive? You can share yours if you encounter otherwise. I have reported so many cases of illegal parking by BMW, Merc, Lexus, Audi etc at my estates until I lost count. They blatantly parked over nights every weekends and denied others of the use of the loading/unloading bay and the ram for disabled or pram users!

Especially those driving posh or expensive continental cars like BMW. They think they own the road as well and totally disregard for pedestrian on the roads. They really have ego problem.

I think you also got ego problem ..... negative side ...... why only BMW ? How about the WRX, the Kia Koup ? all the boy racers wannabes ?

by over generalisation, you betray your own mentality on this issue

Actually there has been a study that shows this to be true. Of course not all drivers of expensive cars are like that, but it is statistically true.

          http://articles.latimes.com/2012/feb/27/science/la-sci-0228-greed-20120228

\"It turned out that people behind the wheels of the priciest cars were four times as likely as drivers of the least expensive cars to enter the intersection when they didn't have the right of way. The discrepancy was even greater when it came to a pedestrian trying to exercise a right of way.\"
Great! That proves my first hand experiences. I don't anyhow say when I can't substantiate with my own eyes. 7 out of 10 are posh cars or they think they have one!

Outside my son’s pri school, parking illegally is rampant and denied the local residents of use, especially drop off points which are covered. Residents have complaints, esp. during raining days, and police have come a few times to get the drivers to move off. Guess what, after few days, only 2 cars still insist on their rights and continue to park at the drop off points, disregards disapproving stares from other parents and drivers. These 2 cars are BMW!!

The daughter wanted SBS to pay for sending the body back to Malaysia, but SBS told her to \"submit a proposal\" to the management. I feel that SBS ought to do what little they can for the victim and her family as a goodwill gesture. The company can't help it when accidents happen, but it can show some compassion for the family members.

As for reckless driving, the perpetrators are drivers of various cars and not just sports cars. I had a close shave when the cab I was in nearly collided with another car, which had suddenly turned right without checking for oncoming vehicles.

Thumbs down on this one, SBS! Has the victim's family resorted to suing SBS for this? Perhaps they should.

Updated. SBS is paying after all. Kudos to them for the prompt response.
