with regards to using chemical...better dun try...

      i regretted..hubby regretted too!

colleagues recommended some chemcial, cheap, cost about 5 bucks only, said it work for her kitchen sink. Last week, kitchen sink choke, used kitchen sink, water came out from the main pipehole. Poured the chemical into the pipe, in the end overflow (cuz chemical strong) then now my black kitchen tile become white :frustrated:

in the end, called the plumber, good services and $80, reasonable price.

        carebear:
What mixer are you referring to?

Last time my hot/cold tap spoilt, I bought a tap head with the mixer and the shop owner quoted me $120 for tap head , installation and transport.

The tap head itself cost $80.
I got someone to do it for another $20.

Tap with mixer harder to fix than usual tap.
The water mixer thingy (hot and cold water) for showerhead. I looked inside and the rubber lining look almost torn - figure that is the culprit becos the other was ok.

The plumber wanted to charge me $150 for normal mixer and $195 for italian one. I recall the shops at Jln Besar shouldn't be that expensive, and it doesn't look tough even if I were to buy my own mixer and fix the thing in. And that rubber thingy should definitely not cost so much as to warrant a $80 charge.

Seriously, if my kids can't study, I think I will send them for plumbing and electrician courses. Good money and it seems generally people are getting less and less savvy about DIY.

I used the chemical thingy recently... Yellow bottle - Jackie.

Available at some hardware shops... Saw a lot at Toyogo.

Used at my mum's place... Works wonder!
Never seen the sink water flow so fast before.
Next time I don't need to open up the pipe thing liao... :rahrah:

I think it works better if the pipes are not badly choked yet.
And to pour slowly and don't let it overflow.

i use mr muscle for choked pipe.

but i think it is important not to let anything (hair, food, tissue papers and tiny bits and pieces of anything) flow into the pipe.

i once dropped a ring into the sink hole. luckily after taking apart pipe, it was found.

now i put a cover (with tiny holes for water to pass thru) in my sink (especially the kitchen sink cos that’s where all the bits of food would go).
