I don’t get it. Today the paper reported employers will stand to benefit from this. How?? I reaaaaaally don’t understand. The maid agencies just pass the buck to employers. Left pocket to right pocket. What’s the difference??? Only good for the maid and agencies.

You think more will come for 'free' holiday if the maids dun nid to pay so much to land a job out of their own country?

How did employers ended up by paying for maid’s loan in the first place?

Somewhere along the way we were "conned" into accepting this whilst the maid agencies just pocket their commissions.

Wonder if there is a way that we can reverse the process?

We will pay the maid’s salary.
We will house the maid for free
We will pay the levy. (another debatable point on for a different thread)
          We will pay the insurance

Why should we have to be a interest free money lender to the maid? The maids made a "loan" to come here. The agency took the loan and then pass the ball to the employers and we accept it.

Should we not just pay the maid the full salary and the maid agency can send their debt collectors to collect the monthly installments (whatever the amount is) from the maid after all the agreement for the loan was between the agency and the maid AND the agency has made its profits from us when we pay the agency fees.

          What happened?

because singaporean families or families in singapore who need domestic helpers are most gullible and con-able .... they can't out smart the maid agencies, they only know how to whine ..... like me

              HaHa .. so sad

Can we not \"un con\" ourselves? We \"can't\" out smart the maid agencies? Do we need to out smart them? I thought we have a wonderful MOM to provide us a level playing field and protect us with policies when dealing with maid agencies, no?

Small wonder we are call \"daft\" by the government. Now I cannot remember who also said that we also like to whine.

every new rules from the Ministry of Maids is for the maids, against the employers, and help the agencies make more profit, and gov’t collect the FWL as usual

OOPs! Your are right...We daft Singaporeans voted in the Ministry of Maid the last time. Can we un-daft ourselves in 2016 and get the proper Ministry in?
