All About Full-Time Maids

Food is the main problem.


No matter how much effort I put in, the food just didn't turn out well. Dinner delivery, outside food really not our cup of tea cos I have two growing kids. The amt of time I spent in kitchen is really too much with little result.

All other household chores i can handle well.

Dh is back this week and while breakfast and lunch are easy to handle., simple fare, dinner is a headache. Can't have one pot all the time.

Also about a month ago, I had food poisoning. Alone with kids at home, he freaked out on the other end of phone cos he couldn't help me. Luckily I was able to get my brother to come and sent me to hospital.

Well, let's see how it goes. After being maid less for more than three years, hope I can get use to having one. :sad:

no lah. not food poisoning from home cooked food. me though cant cook well, still very careful with food preparation for pre and after cooking.

must be the curry i had from outside during lunch (didnt have anything else except for coffee and bread which was at about 6am). ds had the same food except for curry sacue. Thank God, he was fine.

now i have to clear my maid's room (lots of unpacked boxes) to get it ready for her. my house is so small and i have so many things. thought i could keep most of the toys and books for my grandchildren but looks like i have to either sell or give away.

i got to give away most of my books too. you like chinese romance book?

anyway, didnt go to those few commonly used maid agencies cos the selection really not so good. went to interview one yesterday and got her. now waiting for all docuemnts to be signed (cos dh needs to leave on mon and back only in jul). :xedfingers: all goes well.

my new maid is from philippines, can speak mandarin which is major factor for getting her, and for an expat which is very very fussy and demanding (which i kinda believe cos' my tenants (same nationality) have been giving us and their own hr people + agents lots of problems). not renewing their contract when it expires soon. :dancing:

so see how it goes and hard.

Oh I got food poisoning from food cooked by my ex-phlilp maid. So can’t be too sure if food is prepared by them. I think you have weak stomach like me. When I go overseas, I cannot eat roadside food stall. I will end my holidays in hospital there.
