            Stop dreaming!!!

We should start a thread on how to make our first S$1M in cash.

Must exclude asset please, i know Singaporean are asset rich.
Do not enter the property market now. Wait for market to soften, say 1-2 yrs, then buy a freehold property within yr means and then hold for 5-10yrs. Price should escalate and then one can make his/her 1st One Million.

Note that most Millionaires & Billionaires make their $ from pty investments.

              Hi Atan
I hope this is true that property market will soften in 1-2 years time. The current scenario :
              - government measures to curb the market with not much effect
              - showroom full of viewers
              - the demand
              - the growing price in the whole property market, be it new HDB, resale HDB and private
A lot of people said that the prices will not come down. And even if it come down, it will be only less than 10%.

Recently I went to two show flats near aljunied mrt.

One actual site is near to kallang mrt which is at Geylang.

The one room apt less than 600sf is asking between 1400-1600psf and yet many units were sold.

                :?

At both places, one sold a unit and the other sold two. Can see the buyers , maybe 30+ yrs old. And we were there for about half hr each.

Nobody knows which direction the market will go, but usually when there is an over supply of condos which would be in a few years' time, the market would soften. I think the key to investment is to be patient and not rush into it and be able to assess what is a good investment, instead of following the crowd.

IMHO, buy within your means , that is, not to take up more than 50% of the loan. In the event market goes down or bank interest rate goes up, we can still hold on to the property and not \"fire-sale\" it.

Portion out a certain amount to charity, fully paid for my parents, my brothers' family and my family to go for an overseas trip together (that will be about 15 of us and we have been talking about Korea trip together for quite some time) and the rest to buy a property to earn some rental income. 😉

what kind of investment property could a million dollars buy ?

                      Errrrrrm.... :?

How about a more than 10 year old condo unit, not located in a PRIME area, but nonetheless, near an extremely popular sought after pri sch, eateries, and expat schools. Area about 1400 square ft. Was selling for less than a million.

Edit: forgot to mention that it's freehold 😄
