Drickymummy - oic.. Wld u mind sharing with me why u chose phpps? My \"feel\" is that phpps has a rich culture and strong focus on values and at e same time academic emphasis is also tt. Is that true? Thanks! 🙂

Actually with a mum like drickymummy, it really doesn't matter where her son ends up. He'll excel anyway and anywhere due to her coaching.

        Bro, 你很看得起我 leh! 👅
But hor I m still far fr many parents here leh..

Eh, FQW, u ask ur boy to remind mine abt his handwriting leh, ds spends more time with ur boy than me!! 😛 anyway ds now has standing orders to practise writing instead of watching tv if i find out he has submitted lousy written work. Dunno wat else to do abt it liao. He loses lots of marks in his sch tests bcos the teacher cant read his writing!! :frustrated:
I think the previous CL teacher Wang laoshi must have told us the same thing during PTM last year. But if the 2 of them are together, they'll end up doing boys' stuff - latest craze is composing hymns on Easter week and now, silly pop songs.

Son's tutor has threatened to throw his book out of her balcony if he doesn't improve in his handwriting. I leave it to her to handle this. I have given up nagging. Sian repeating and repeating when he is already in P6 and crucial part now is on his progress...NOT this.
I hope the book is not encyclopedia. Next time I remember to wear helmet when I walk pass Toh Yi estate. Err, you wat block? :nailbite:

I remembered I threw my elder boy's CL handwriting exercise book out to the front yard when we were living with my in-laws- landed terrace house- no injury to other passerby.

His is not untidy handwriting - but the pursuit of perfect handwriting. U imagine the non-stop erasing by him (not me hor) until the paper tears. I had to cut a small square & paste over the book.

Those were the scary days I had with my elder boy.

Then my younger boy also had the same issue in P1. Every night he laboured over his lines & curves for both EL & CL handwriting. Cried every night when he could not get it right by his own stds. Now? Be thankful he writes neatly enough for you to understand  But when it comes to exams papers, he can write very neatly for the school teacher to mark.

                    Hi FQW,

I am very frustrated when he scribbles. I really wish I can open up his brain to see what he is thinking  there is just 4 months more to go. He is not worried at all, well as least that is what I observed. Tried to be nice by buying him ice cream and allowing him to play a short while with his toys. But to no avail. Looks like using soft approach doesn't work.
