Finally, the average driving speed of taxi will be coming down.

Well, if i am still able and financially comfortable, i would prefer to involve myself in some charity work. By keeping myself engaged and active, i feel more fulfilled to be able to contribute to the society in a certain sense.

But dh better don't stay at home all day and drive me :frustrated: .

Man, sigh, once retired will turn his attention to the house and get in the way. 😉
that's why in Japan many wives initiate divorce when their husbands retire

It's was a 'tradition' for the wives to buy gifts for the mamasan and the 'ladies' every New year for pampering and entertaining their husbands outside their homes :yikes: Even the tableware husband and wife use have to be different sizes (the larger ones go to the hubby).
So after suffering all these humiliation over the years, it's no surprise that wives choose to walk out of a marriage after the husband retire and the children old enough to graduate and work..

From what I learn when I was working in a Japanese MNC, the man’s salary is wired directly into an account that the wife controls. The wife will then give the husband his daily pocket money.

In some Jap firms, the man’s salary is split into 2 parts. There is the portion that goes into the family’s account and there is the portion that goes directly into the man’s pocket.

How true all these are, I’m not sure. Cos the subsequent Japanese colleagues I met in the various companies that I worked in were very much Americanised.

I've seen how my Dad drove my mum nuts when he first retired. 😂

Looking at my parents now, their days are occupied with trips to the wet market or NTUC, taiwan/korean drama and the stock market. The occasional trip abroad and some home improvement projects.

I keep asking DH how he thinks our lives will be like when the kids are grown and have their own families. I cannot see myself watching all those dramas and going to the market daily. :skeptical: While the idea of having more time with DH seem nice, I think I will be itching to kick him out of the house in no time at all. As it is now, there will be times when I will wish that he is out stationed for the week.

So really to keep everyone's sanity, think I better work for as long as I can.
