      chillycrab:
... I think it is a great idea, not so much of earning a lot of money, but of sharing a lighter side of the stressful examinations our kids are going through every year. I don't think there are enough comics now to publish a book, but that is not a big problem, I can continue to draw.

The issue is how to go about to publish a book. I have no idea at all how to do this:
      - where/how to find a publisher? are they willing to help or do I have to convince/beg them?
      - do I need to come out with my own $ to publish/print the books?
      - and how about distribution?
      - I guess some form of promotion of the book is needed too right?

Any fellow parents out there has experience in this area? Thanks.
I think you definitely have talent, chillycrab, but it will take more than a couple of dozen comic strips to convince a publisher to invest in a comics book deal with an author. Why not start your own website or blog, and publish your own comics there on a regular basis? When you have gathered sufficient material, and with a proven audience over time, you would have built enough clout to do what you want.

ha... of course I dun expect to publish anything at this moment, not even in the near future. I was just wondering how to go about doing it.

Actually I do have a website, by some free hosting services, but the comics is about the same as those I've posted here. Maybe when there are more non-school comics... then I'll share the URL.

          Picolo:
Thanks, Chillycrab. I believe to be very good at anything, we need to practise it a lot. For now, I'll let him do what he likes, and I'll just provide him with lots of sketch books and materials.

BTW, like the other parents, I really hope your comic strips can be published on The Sunday Times, right at the top of the page - something like the Chew On It. Perhaps you can email any reporter with your comics attachment to ask who's the right person in SPH to contact?
Picolo, have checked out the Central Library, there are a lot of drawing books there, and some are specifically on comic drawing. Do borrow some for your kid.

          Here's a couple of new ones;

                Hello Everyone,

Exams are over... so no more exam funnies. But the PSLE results will be announced very soon... this Thursday.

I've drawn an illustration for this 'exciting' day, I'm looking forward to it... and I think many parents are feeling the same.

I had a lot of fun drawing the funnies and sharing them with you guys, and I'm glad most of you enjoyed them. So this is probably the last one, thanks very much for all the encouraging words.

All the best the our P6 kids and also to their parents!!!

                  HI chillycrab,

                  You can draw really well.
But why do you want to stop drawing?

I really love your comics and so is my son!

hey chillycrab, no more psle funnies. 😞 you can always create some other funnies to entertain the stressed up kiasu parents here. How about drawing some on sec 1 orientation?

I was wondering if you could draw a pic of a boy (wears glasses) spending his post-psle period in front of the computer the whole day and having a sad/black face (coz he hates the muddy trails..virtual mud's ok not real ones) when his parents drag him to Bt Timah hill or shopping (again virtual stores are more fun, virtual money...even better). Then I'll show ah boy how he looks the last few weeks.

Please? By special request, can? πŸ™ And I give you 100 kiasu points for your effort?
