I worry immensely for my boys in this regard. I think in our day, sans internet and a more conservative culture overall, the temptations and opportunities are not so prevalent. It is a much changed society these days. I strongly advocate celibacy pre-marriage, but I am slowing coming to the view that I will not hold it against my children..........they will have different challenges and will need to manage them in their own way, and it is perhaps not fair for me to judge or impose.
I did write in another post that boys/men need to 'guard guard guard' against such wiles. Its not meant to be anti-women, but I think the way the law is right now, the men really stand to be at the losing end.

Come on.. please do not blame the education system (again) for what happened to this girl! Has any school, thus far, shame any students who do not do well in their studies, as claimed by you? Maybe she is controlled. She may want to backed out but the pimp did not allow via threat on circulating nude photos etc.. she must have been lost at 1st but subsequently has no way of backing out. The pimp would not let her out too since she can help him make so much money.
The education system is to be blamed too. It is too elitist and it shamed the students who does not do well. The schools also grouped the good ones together instead of mixing them together to ensure cohesion. Our education is like the vice trade. Once you are down and out; it takes a huge effort to climb up. p3, streamed, p6 streamed, Sec2 streamed etc. At the tender age of 9 and 12, if you do badly you are a dead meat. You are tested beyond and when you fail you are no good. If you do not have a \"rich\" parent or \"educated + connected\" parent; there is no way out. At 14, the system decides whether you are science or art students based solely on grades regardless of your interest. A lot of our girls will be like this girl has very low self worth and many hungry wolves like this pimp will readily take advantage of that.
And saying that ONLY children whose parents are ''rich, educated and connected'' can do well in schools is totally absurd! Are you implying that children of hawkers, bus drivers, clerks, people who hold 'normal' jobs and from average income families, will never ever do well in school? If you bother to check the profiles of most of the top PSLE/GCE students over the years, you will realise you are sooo wrong..
I feel that whatever happened to this girl is of nobody's fault but her own! Everybody HAS a choice, and nobody can force anybody to do anything, if he/she doesnt wish to do so. This girl CHOSE the easiest and fastest way to earn big bucks, and in the process, causing hurt and harm to other people and their families. She deserves NO pity from anyone! In fact, I feel that she should be made to bear the consequences of her bad behaviour, just like the men, to serve as a warning to other young girls that what this girl has done was totally wrong!
I second that! I don't know why some people are painting a possible pic of a poor girl being victimised and doing this against her own will.
Even if she had a less than happy background, she doesn't have to choose this path for herself if her morals are strongly grounded. More likely, she's much less innocent and much more guilty than we thought.
As for prostitution being another paid employment like any others... I can only say I respect even cleaners , sweepers for their jobs but I have disgust and contempt for such flesh trade workers, and I believe most of society also does. :roll: -

Recently read a magazine article about men straying. In the article, there was this man who strayed many times, he has an attractive wife and the partner in crime is not necessarily more attractive than the wife. It's his inherent nature to stray.News report says that they were just married. So guess he was divorced before then. Perhaps he started using such services when divorced? then couldn't give it up even after second marriage?
Like it's been said before, even men with supermodel / celebrity /actress wives stray. There's nothing new under the sun...
Nothing wrong with the wife. It's just him. So the morale of the story for woman is that when spouse stray, it's not necessarily your fault. It's just him. -
