            Sure. But just to follow the \"tradition\", could you please tell us which level is the question pitch at and if possible, where did you encounter it?

                In 10s, Mary travels 10y meter and in 8s, john travels 8x meter. Hence, 10y=8x.
                Next, in the 5s, John travels 5x meter and the total distance travel is 8+5y. Thus, 5x=8+5y.

                      Hi

                      Total number of days to tile the hall --> 8 days
                      Day 1 --> 319 tile
                      8/15 of hall completed on day 4, so 7/15 (=28/60) of hall completed on remaining 4 days.
                      So, 1 day --> 7/60 of hall
                      Day 2 to Day 4 --> 3 days --> 21/60 of hall
                      319 tiles --> (60-21-28)/60 of hall
                      11/60 of hall --> 319 tiles
                      Total number of tiles --> 319/11 x 60 = 1740

                      cheers.

                        Mary and ben took 49 hours to complete their sci project.

                        They worked separately on their own project.
                        If mary had worked 5 hours less an ben had worked 6 hours
                        More. Mary would hv put in 2 hours more than ben.
                        How many hous did mary put in for the sci project?
