Know of a very pious and dedicated mother who brought the DD to church every sun from young. When the DD hit her teens, suddenly she told her mum she's tired of being a goody-two shoes and decided her friends' lifestyles seem more exciting, that's when the mother started to \"lose\" her DD.

There was a time in DD's teens when I had suicidal thoughts because I thought I had given all I had... done all I could... but I had failed. I'm not looking forward to DS' teens. I've come to the conclusion that adolescence is a a journey fraught with pain for parents.

We try our best, but we could still fail.

As long as you have tried your best, nobody should fault you or judge you!! If any others were to do so, they should try being in your shoes first!!
You have done your job, don't be too hard on yourself!!
:snuggles: *give yourself a pat on your shoulder and say Good Job*

I always tell myself, I am not a born to parent. I am a learning in progress parent. I try to do the best I can, the rest is up to them

Sheesh…looks like everyone else is at fault, including those in this forum who choose to be less sympathetic to the ‘plight’ of this dear innocent girl for whom life Had supposedly dealt a poor hand. Everyone EXCEPT this girl at the centre of the storm, the biggest victim of this entire sordid event, unfairly maligned by mean spirited voyeuristic pundits who have nothing better to do with their lives…

So it be clear, I am not asking to name and shame. However, My motivation to engage in this thread was my astonishment at the number of people leaping to an unabashed defense of this protagonist. It is frankly, in my view, befuddling (I have a less polite word in my mind that also starts with B).

I am done here. Thankfully I had a nice dinner and glass of wine with the missus last night, which went a long way to restoring my usual faith and affection for women.

It's very very sad that this girl slept with so many men at 17. There is nothing proud about it. Even if there is gag order protecting her, one day her identity will be known. No man will hide and word will spread around by those men who slept with her, especially if they go to jail after that encounter.

When this thing goes to court, the lawyers will \"interrogate\" her like how we see in TVB dramas??!! That's when all hell will break lose

At most she will appear in close circuit when case starts. Somehow she cannot escape the lawyers. Subhas the famous lawyer has already called her a hardcore prostitute. As for those men in heat, he has to protect them...lawyers hired by the rich men in this case will be richer.

The pimp will definitely get it...he has recorded all the appointments of the girl in a diary...time, dates and hotel rooms (mainly hotel 81 bencoolen).
He should be given a caning of at least 6 strokes.

If women above 18 are in heat, they can approach the guy…but don’t approach one below 17. Women will be still be charged in court for raping a minor.

Maybe the pimp will claim he did not know the girl’s real age?

i am very frank whenever i talk about sex with dd. nothing covered up. if i need to use that word, i will use it.

likewise one of my nephews talks to me about sex too. i seek his parents permission before talking to him about it. very frank discussion. no embrassment.

i cant prevent him from having sex but i always remind him not to do it with young girls. it is an offence.

likewise for him and the rest of the nieces and nephews, my advice to them is please come to me if they cant talk to their parents. dont do anything stupid.

yes, i am sure that's his claim. since it is court case now, it depends on how both sides present the case. he might get off lightly if his lawyers are super good in their job.

Everyone else is at fault? Where has anyone written that? Don't polarise the issue in this way. My view is not as imbalanced as you re-interpret it to be. No one said she was innocent. How many times must people write \"She has sinned\" for that message to make a connection with you?
                      3Boys:

I know your motivation in engaging in this thread. YOU did not name and shame. That is clear. So why be so sensitive? It wasn't YOU doing the naming and shaming. I know who it was who sent me that PM, but I am not naming.

Don't again put words in others' mouths nor re-interpret our posts to your polarized advantage in a bid to gain traction in a debate. No one is giving an \"unabashed defence\" of a total innocent as you seem to say. Our view is balanced. Let's state clearly here...

She has sinned. She is no innocent.

Still, she is young and possibly teachable. She can be rehabilitated. She needs firm discipline. She needs help... and she needs adults such as those here to respect a court order to preserve her anonymity for no other reason than that we do not have her full story, and we should not take vigilante justice into our hands.
                      3Boys:
It is frankly, in my view, befuddling (I have a less polite word in my mind that also starts with B).
Why would you stoop to language such as this when people have ALREADY agreed with you that...
                      (1) discipline is in order
                      (2) she is no angel
                      (3) she was willing party
That is your view no? And we agree (hokkiengirl, sun_2010, autumnbronze) with you.

                      This is my view...
                      (1) discipline is in order (you think so too)
                      (2) she is no angel (you think so too)
                      (3) she was willing party (you think so too)

                      balanced with...

                      (4) she is young and can be taught
                      (5) her sexual imprinting has gone very wrong and needs to be rehabilitated
                      (6) there MAY be extenuating circumstances in her life we don't know about (but then again, there may be none... but YOU don't know better than any do you?)
                      (7) let us not flout the law to name and shame her (you have indicated that you also agree with this?)
                      3Boys:
I am done here. Thankfully I had a nice dinner and glass of wine with the missus last night, which went a long way to restoring my usual faith and affection for women.
Women are strong in their gentleness. I would assume that your wife is gentle as she is virtuous. I write posts to ask our community to be gentle with this girl... NOT to absolve her of all blame. Counselling gentleness is a woman's role in both the family and the community.

Yes... you guys can swear vengeance etc... and use ugly words starting with \"B\"... but at least allow women to add in the dimension of gentleness. There is nothing wrong with what we are doing when we counsel peace, gentleness, love and forgiveness.

But if you still want to persist in SEEING polar opposite views when we're already meeting you in the middle then I am not going to stoop to calling you names starting with \"B\". So, we will just leave it at that.
