we told kids that once they graduate from uni, they are on their own.

they want to get married, have nice wedding, nice house, car, babies etc, please plan and save. dont expect us to fork out $$$ for wasteful items.

many of us have 2 sets of parents to support as well as kids thus many have little or no savings. so once kids have a job, it is time for parents to save for their future. in fact, i think kids shoujld pay for their study loans too.

who wants to employ old folks?

Yes, who wants to employ old folks....

My teen daughter already said she is not moving out ...she wants to stay with me...she already calculated she cannot afford to buy a house....so do not want to be burden by loans/houseworks...
She do not want to be a working adult.... :skeptical:

Wow nowdays kids already so realistic.... :faint:
Maybe my fault ...to pamper them too much....

I think in future I will be one of the parents to be in the headlines for bringing my children to Court .... ordering them to move out when they become independent... :scared:

:faint: But really...cannot depend on kids to support next time. High standard cost of living, wages low as got to compete with FTs...cost of housing so high, start family also don't know got enough money, what's more to say giving birth to grandchildren and support to university...all the cost adds up. :moneyflies:

🤷 For my kid next time, at home with me also must help with housework, whether move out or not.
