is it possible to teach p4 math ourselves?

He need to learn how to use good phrases but his compo so simple and lots of spelling mistakes sometimes no proper sentence formation.

Like I share, Onsponge is suitable for students who can achieve band 1 result. But then some of the methods used by Onsponge are too 'chim' to understand when some easier methods can be used.
You may want to try \"Intensive Math's\" by EPH. It has three levels of difficulty to practice on. Obviously the third level is most difficult. You can see how far your child can cope. If ds can do well, Andrew Er's books will be the next level to try out.

I am using Intensive math's drill by EPH too and like the 3 levels of difficulty. it is much more managable than onsponge and yet still of some challenge for average kid at the level 3 section.

My DD is in P1 taking MPM. I am also wondering if math enrichment is sufficient if we just let them do assessment books. Some parents with older kids told me that it is necessary to go for math enrichment. Anyone advise?

I personally don’t think lower primary need to attend enrichment unless the child is really weak in math. Assessment books good ones like Andrew Er’s one is good enough, you can supplement it with top school exam papers.

Only when maths gets more difficult in upper primary, you may consider for enrichment lessons if you’ve no time to guide your child. This is my personal view. For onsponge, I digest them before I let my child tackle the questions there. I skim through, I skip those simple questions and made him tackle the difficult ones. Of course, I must be ready to explain to him when he don’t know. They won’t be able to grasp some of the concepts there. This is because some of the questions there are more difficult than the school ones. So they are not taught or even not tested on those.

24hr-mum, yes, you are right, the teacher must be good or have passion and patient to explain to the child and also the child must be willing to learn. I have two DS of different characters in terms of learning so I understand.
