      Young Mum:
Have you heard about 1 of the school bus that broke down half way to school yesterday? The student on board the bus actually went to school eventually by taking MRT on their own????

C'est la vie; Shit happens.. Since the bus broke down, it is logical students seek alternative routes to school. on the positive, the student had showed positive attitude..

What I understand was that along the way to school, the school bus broke down & the students were told to make their own way to school. Some took cab & train, but some walk. Yes, true, it shows the independence of the kids on one hand, but on the other hand, how about the safety of the students?? There are student as young as P1, do you think they are capable of travelling on their own? If so, why take school bus in the 1st place right?

Do they have their ez-link with them? For some, I think no, that’s why they choose to walk… early in the morning, crossing major roads & traffic junction… I cannot imagine…

I send my kid to school. Speaks volume for the resilience of the kids. Nobody knows when a vehicle will break down. I wonder where the breakdown was and what could have been done in the madness of it all.

Perhaps the bus driver could have hailed cabs for the kids and get the school to pay on behalf first? But then, if a parent doesn’t pay finally, then how?

But yes, it’s important to coach our kids to be independent and able to think out of the box. and also always to have a topped up ezlink card on hand.

I heard about the bus incident. Seem like the bus driver was very irresponsible as asked the children to find their way to school on their own.

Some of those that walked to the mrt actually has no mrt card or sufficient funds to buy the adult ticket.
And for those who are planning to walk, it’s actually a 30 minutes journey with a few roads to cross.
It’s lucky that all the students managed to reach school on their own. Just think, if your child is out there on his/her own, it would be so scary.

Last night signed some stuff for my P2. Haiz, some chinese tests coming up in early May. PLUS, there is chinese show and tell also. Stayed with DS1 until he wrote out the show and tell speech - late night again.

Parents of P2, pls remember to check.

Although I’m not sure why suddenly so many show and tell. Some weeks back his class just did one, now another one. Hope this is not going to be regular…else I’m going to be panda bear.

                        Hi hquek,

Think some might be practice show-and-tell.

My dd1 had 3 Eng show-and-tell so far and the real one coming up a few wks later.

Of course she’s in P1 but maybe those that you ds presented could be practice rounds too?
