With all the homework, enrichment classes & homework, the time left for assessment books is miserable.. of course also due to the speed my DS is doing... he will need to whip up his dictionary to check the meaning of the words before he can go on so he can take forever to complete one unit of each assessment book.
I have learnt to resist temptation, finally. Went to popular after 2 months and walked out after 10 min, empty-handed. 🕺
My son is in P6. With all the tuition this year, it will be cruel to add on anymore work on my side. For my P2 daughter, I will plan a time table for her...maybe grammar on Mon, Vocab on Tue. Synthesis on Wed. On weekends, I will squeeze in Math in the morn and getting CL tuition hw in the night.

I, too would like to know how to draw a good time-table for my 2 kids. I read many time management books but is still very weak in giving a satisfying schedules. Can mommies here share your valuable time managments tips? 🙏

Time management is a problem for me too.

We shadow the Singapore MOE syllabi at home and so it has been difficult to fit everything in, including his school homework. DS1 despises reading and I have tried everything. He now does his reading through comprehension.

In a nutshell I formally withdrew him from English homework 12 months ago, and from Mathematics 2 months ago (as he was literally starting the homework on the morning he had to hand it in or in his break time (punishment for being late).

I do not like the quality of his school homework provision - he and I both admirer the rigor of your Primary Curriculum. Withdrawal from school homework allows me to focus what he can study at home. He very much prefers the Singaporean books. Ironically, he has been asked to complete 3 book reviews during this Easter break (he goes back to school tomorrow). He has not done them and I will have to reiterate with the teacher that he is not required to do them. They think that I am always a pedant. What they don’t realise is how much work he has done everyday.

I will do the same with DS2, when he starts the new school year in September. Oh well, must get DS1 to finish Challenging Maths P3 now. Bye!!

                Champ,

My daughter’s P2 is just 1/4 used…P6 collecting dust on the shelf…now I totally understand why my friends told me P6 is BUSY year.
Don’t think I will be getting for P3. If she is busy this year, next year may be worse with another subject - science.
Honestly, I don’t quite understand why my daughter is busier at P2 compared to my son back then. Furthermore, she is in morn session.

                    Hi snowball,

I find Elite quite ok. Some of the synthesis questions are good practice.
The whole section for each test is thick…so I just select certain sections for her to do. Maybe grammar, vocab and synthesis.
Honestly, I’ve not gone in-depth so can’t comment too much on this title.
But I prefer to use individual assessment to work on her weakness especially comprehension.
