Pre-school - There are a few different types. Some start at 6mths, some at 1yo, some at 18mths. Good to look around and read up, decide on which you are targetting at and plan from there.Hi everyone,

Popular playgroup programs usually have waiting list, so act fast.
For me, I will send to playgroup/CC for social interaction at 18mths. Not earlier if I have a choice (meaning: My maid still works for me) as they tend to fall sick easily if start too early.
Nursery - Starts when they are 4yo. Typically, most schools have PRE-NURSERY which starts at 3yo. Registration usually in April/May of the year before they start (e.g. Pre-nursery starts the year they turn 3yo in 2014, so register in April/May 2013).
P1 - Registration is during June/July the year they turn 6yo. This means 2017.

Thank you for the info, will read up more and act fast for my daughter!

Wah, P1 for my BB seems so far away...I am such an old mommy!
Although I am really enjoying my 10 month-old BB now, he is such a cutie-pie!
Thanks for the reminder, yeh, gotta register for Pre-N in the beginning of 2013 (to start in 2014) already! -

My 7mth old is really cute now. Master escape artist. Nearly died of heart attack when we couldn't find him in the room (fenced by play yard).
He escaped through a small opening and slithered to my bedroom! -
mrswongtuition:
your 7mth old can walk and run already?! :yikes:

He can't walk and run yet. He 'slithers'. Can't crawl properly, thus the term 'slither'. He pulls, drags and kicks himself to move around on this tummy with his hands and legs.

He can 'walk' if there's something for him to hold onto (e.g. coffee table). -

oh your boy is fast! so he can crawl so far already

did u let him sit in walker?
my DD also 'walks' when she is in her cot
she is 7+ months too.

northernstar:
We didn't let him sit in walker due to the 'freedom' (too many things around the house with an elder boy). We put him in the exersaucer (similar to walker, many toys but no wheels).

My 10 month-old BB can walk around independantly now! He simply LOVES this freedom and we will see him walking around with his arms held-out somewhat for balancing and with a serious look on his face and a pout in concentration as he walks around. Really cute! He will chuckle loudly and happily when he walked and reached one destination to another eg. from the sofa to the opposite wall and then to the bookshelf etc. He still crawls sometimes and the PD said crawling is actually very good for the brain development as well!
