PS = 1/6 the perimeter of PQRS

PS = QR + 1 unit
PQ =SR = 2 units

PS = 6 cm

Perimeter of shaded portion = perimeter of PQRS = 2(12+6) = 36cm

Area of rectangle PQRS = 12*6 = 72

72 – 56 = 16

Area of square = 16

Length of square = 4 cm

At first,
Daisy --> 1 unit + $14
John --> 3 units + $42 (= 3 x $14)

In the end,
Daisy --> 1 unit
John --> 5 units

For John, 5 units --> 3 units + $ 42 + $14
1 unit --> $28

Daisy had $ 28 in the end.
