The ratio of the number of prize-winners to the number of parents who attended was 8:11 and 3/8 of the prize-winners bought only one parent. What fraction of the prize-winners did not have any parents attending the ceremony?

Prize Winners = 8 units
Parents = 11 units

Out of prize winners (8 units), there are 3 groups:
Brought 1 parent = 3/8 of 8 units = 3 units; 3 units x 1 parent = 3 units of parents
Brought both parents } 8 units - 3 units
Did not bring parents } = 5 units

Now, looking at the parents:
11 units - 3 units = 8 units
8 units of parents belong to those who brought BOTH parents.

Prize Winners (brought both parents & did not bring parents):
Brought both parents: 8 units of parents divide by 2 parents per prize winner = 4 units of prize winners
5 units - 4 units = 1 unit of prize winners did not bring parents

1 out of 8 prize winners did not bring their parents. (Ans: 1/8)

14) Macy has a collection of 72 English and Chinese books. 4/5 of the English books and 3/4 of the Chinese books are fiction books. She has a total of 57 fictions book in her collection. How many Chinese fiction books do she have?

Anyway, I have solved the other two questions, but still got some questions needed help too! I try to sent it as soon as I could

This questions needs help, ok!

1) A baker packs some cookies into 8 large bags and 12 small bags. Each large bag has 5 more cookies than each small bag. 1/3 of the cookies are packed in the large bags while 4/9 of the cookies are packed in the small bags. the remaining cookies are put in a tin.
A) What faction of the cookies is put in the tin?
B) How many cookies are put into bags?

Need the whole method as it is a 5 marks question!!! Step by step answer!!! And if the answer for A is 2/9? If not, pls correct me and give me the answer! I don know how to do B!
