      Hi,

It was a gift from my husband last April.

I am sorry that I do not know the exact price but heard from him that it cost around S$2300 to S$2500.

I am not sure about the one selling in Tangs.

It is definitely worth getting it if you have some kids at home.

      Cheers!

why ? because it is easy for kids to use ? or because it can cook kids stuff easily ? so a lot of blended stuff ? Sorry for so many question, because i am also thinking of buying a vitamix (blender), but if thermomix can do the blending job as well as vitamix, then may be i can just invest on thermomix.

      thanks.

      Hi,

I read your earlier post on Wed Apr 04, 2012 2:58 pm.

I think you would have a clear and basic information on Thermomix up to this point.

Ha ha ha ........... I was in your situation a year ago.

Both my sisters and mum own a Vitamix.

After some research on both, I fell for Thermomix.

If you are keen on attending the demostration, please email me.

      [email protected]

      Cheers !

If you are on FB, there is : "my Thermomix experience" that tells you quite a bit about it and there’s also "Thermomix Singapore" who occasionally conducts no obligation demos.

If you like to do things the traditional way, I dont think this is the machine for you. For some of us, pounding our own rempah is the way to go, this machine blends everything and the consistency vs traditional pounding is of course different.
Also, I think the priced in Singapore went up at the end of April from abt $2300 as sold by the tmx rep. Not sure what the price is at retail outlets.

The one very important difference to me is the stainless steel jug vs plastic jug although it is BPA free.

I just wrote in their FB to indicate my interest to buy, then I chance upon this thread. I hope 2ppaamm can comment on this since she is using it.

Hi Kiasupiano, are you one of their sales rep? Will it be cheaper if I buy from you?

A few of my friends own the Thermomix and they love it. The stainless steel is an 18/10 gauge which means it doesn't retain flavours. Eg. after you mince garlic in it, you can just quickly rinse it in water, and then make a sorbet afterwards and it won't be a garlic sorbet πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

I just bought my ThermomixTM5 over the good friday weekend and i have fell in love with it.

It is almost dummy proof with step by step instructions and pre-programmed recipes. One touch setting to cook. Thsi machine not only blends, chops, saute, mixes, kneads bread.

I made the following over 3 days -
kaya - 45 mins - dump all into machine, press button and walk away. it will beep when done. πŸ™‚ I used to have to stand over the stove for 2 hrs to stir this. machine does it all for me.

Thai Fish cake - Made with fresh fish and herbs. Steam in the TM5 then bake in oven so healthier eating with no oil.

Honey Chicken wings - Marinate chicken using recipe and then cook all in the TM5. walk away and come back after 15 mins with yummy chicken wings.

I also made chicken stock granules using the machine - i am adverse to eating processed food as much as i can so this is great. 100% chicken meat, fresh herbs. Chopped, Blended and cooked in TM5. Baked in oven to make dried powder instead of paste so it can hold for longer. Great for stir-fry and soups.

Brioche - Followed recipe and it kneads the dough. Pour into tin and bake in oven. Buttery and nice. Hubby loves it.

What my son cooked on the machine and he's 10 yrs old -
Ginko barley Fu Chouk dessert Chinese style - he put all the ingredients following recipe chip and we had dessert πŸ™‚

Son and hubby made chocolate ice cream using the machine too.

Love what it does so far and recipes seems tasty enough. What i love about it is the convenience, the powerful motor as well as the fact that even my kids can cook. It is great fro us to cook with the kids and i don't worry about them hurting themselves or not turning on the stove properly. I have videos of them cooking and if you are keen, let me know πŸ™‚ My opinion is that it saves me time. i can cook and walk away knowing that if i follow instructions properly, it will be safe and food wont burn.My time is more costly then the machine and my kids love that they now can \"play\" in the kitchen.
