Can anyone kindly advise where to buy ice cream mould? I have tried Bishan NTUC Finest and AMK NTUC Extra, however they do not sell.
Need to bring popsicle ice cream on this Fri for my girl speech therapy. Commercial popsicle ice cream usually contains casein, gluten, colourings, preservatives, addictives, sugar, hence I'm not comfortable buying those from outside.
Hi nugget and mashy,
Thanks a lot, i rushed to NEX to buy it just now since its nearer to my house

ImMeeMee,
wow, your son very advanced leh ...helplessmum3:
ImMeeMee.
What are the actions words? Can guide me. U not professional but u are experience
which are more effective ..
Pls guide me.
My son already know all colors , shapes , fruits , food and animals . Places he only know playground , school & beach .
And bakery n whenever he see bakery he will say mummum like eating.
examples of action words are eating, drinking, walking, running etc. again there are commercial picture cards that you can use to teach.
once he masters that, then you can start to teach 3-word sentences, eg. girl eat cake, boy play ball, boy climb tree etc. therapists tell me nevermind about grammar at this stage, we can worry about that later. the strategy is to add on the building blocks slowly, eg. girl eat cake -> girl drink juice -> girl eat cake and drink juice -> girl eat cake and drink orange juice. δ»₯ζ€η±»ζ¨ ...
but start off with 3-word sentences first and build the foundation, especially if he has a good vocab to start with.
hope this helps.
I'm not sure if he is advance..
Ok I understand now wat are actions words. May I use run instead of runing ? The. 'Ing' is it hard for him to understand ? -

Lavina,
Whatever you want your child to do, just teach him patiently and he will learn to do them eventually.helplessmum3:
Will our ASD able to do these eventually ?
For many years, my son would self-stimulate by flapping his hands and tiptoe around the room. I didnt really believe when his psychologist said he will stop doing it one day. But she is right, he stopped.
So be rest assured that your child will learn and improve as he grows. Really!
To answer your earlier questions, my son gets along fine with all his classmates and has a few good friends. More importantly, he can function normally, even approaching strangers to make enquiries.
No special secret to raising him, just do as the therapists said and try to pre-empt what he needs to know and teach him in advance. Also give him more love, because he has to work so hard to learn so much
Yr son was diagnosed at what age? He flap hands and tip toes last from which age? Wow yr physcologist is good! Who is he or she? For
Kkh?
U are so patience n so smart to guide yr son this far. How do u stay physical n mental strong all these yrs? I after work already dead tired:( -

Alright !! Roughy at what age?
Can't remember exactly when. It just gradually happened. Just try talking to him often. Never mind even when he doesn't reply. There will come a time he will.

sure you can! my flash cards have 'ing' so I conveniently tell you 'ing' ... (see, i no professionalImMeeMee,

actually there is no hard and fast rule of what to do and what not to do once you know the broad principles which I have tried to outline. the key is always to start with basics and work your way up.
please also do not expect immediate results. many a times i see my dd3 not responding but one day ... poof ... it suddenly comes on. there are also days where she seems to regress from her baseline ... and then after that quantum leap again. they can be unpredictable at times so dont get frustrated or feel defeated if these happen. in any case, accept that this is a life long journey of to and fro.

Lavina:
Hello,helplessmum3:
Lavina, yr son in path light ? What is inferential mean ?
my son is in mainstream secondary school.
Inferential questions means the students must infer the answer which is not stated in the passage.
For eg, the gingerbread man story. Everyone asks the gingerbread man to stop running but the gingerbread man keeps running.
Q: why everyone asks the gingerbread man to stop running?
A: because they want to eat him.
Q: why the gingerbread man keeps on running?
A: because he does not want to be eaten.
so when you read stories to your child, remember to ask him WHY :scratchhead: .
Hi, anybody have any link to good online resources on how to teach inferential question? Not just \"why\" questions, but I hope to guide him to interpret situation, for example, when I show him a picture of a boy sweating under a scorching sun, he should be able to tell me \"it is a hot day.\" -
My son's teachers have asked that i consider a shadow teacher to help him in school. Does anyone have any good recommendations and also can you share your experience on what to expect from the shadow teacher? I'm really stressed out just thinking about how to pay for the teacher

-
Hi windie,
are u under any private education psychologist? If u are, then can ask them for recommendations. I got mine though the psychologistβ¦
The shadow teacher will look out for things that the child can improve on such as socialising, bad habits to break and will not try to be very obvious that she is targetting the child. Once the child is able to handle on his/her own, the shadow teacher will fade out. -
Hi Windie,
You can try these 2. I have previously contacted them but my son's school principal isn't keen on outsider in the class so we didn't proceed with hiring a shadow

Can I know how much you pay for your shadow teacher? Will he / she be there with the kid thoughout the class from Monday - Friday?
I read from papers it say cost abt $4k-$5k per month. Is it really that expensive?
