During CA/SA, this thread is super quiet...come last day, it will be abuzz with discussions on papers. 2 more to go, Chinese and Science.

Today we were mugging for Normal Chinese chapter 1 to 9, focus on only 3 sections of paper 2. :xedfingers: he can pass.

This mid year exam period is very stressful.

I am stressed too. Worried like crazy how he fared for oral and compo :nailbite: . Now mugging 6 chapters for Chinese. Making him remember the hanyu pinyin and score in the first few sections since duan3 wen2 tian2 kong1 and compre OE are his weak areas.

For the crazy Math exam today, he told me he had to leave out 2 prob sums as he just could not attempt. For P5, I know it is not going to be easy...has never been. :slapshead:

My son also didnt do well for those T2 tropical tests. Copy number from question also can copy wrongly how to get problem sum correct, keke.

Kids seem to have SAME problem - copy number blindly. First step already wrong. Mine makes the same mistake too. Or else for sentence, although the working is correct but answer copy wrongly. :faint:

Are you very sure you can lower expectations ? More like you'll be sucked into that big pressure cooker like us. PSLE wasnt this stressful before...it should be recently that stakes are raised so high. I don't think you can be so cool :evil:

My expectations for CL went from 80% to 60% over the years.

My elder boy recently got back his paper 2- out of a total of 110, he scored 64, passed every section but failed the summarising passage.

BUT MA & Sc remains high :xedfingers:

Don’t know results of any subject yet. I guess they will come in on Thur/Fri or next week. For CA1, i understand teachers marked in the afternoon, soon after the papers are completed.

Me too, me too.... planning our China trip for June holiday and my girl's swim camp!!... and also signing up for swimming meets, diving classes... tomorrow last paper liao!! :rahrah:

can daddies/mummies who put kids in BASC share how to go about registering and also the charges?

My advice to my boys is never leave a qn unattempted. Give a few workings, try alternative methods. Just do not give up totally.

While we were revising at home, my P5 boy sometimes hv this habit to give up on qns that look alien to him. I need to scold him or coax him into trying. Sometimes he gets around the difficult qn, sometimes he uses guess & check.

Welcome to the family.

I believe the reason why you do not find many sharing on the BASC that is operating in the school is becos few parents put them kids there.
