      concern_mum:
hi, i am going Genting this Wednesday and intend to take the cable car to Gohtong Jaya Town from Genting, is there anything interesting there on top of the strawberry farm and also can i walk to the town from the cable car station?

I don't think is near to walk fr the cable car station to Gohtong Jaya town... probably more accessible by those who drive.

For those interested, i've just went there early Dec on my way down fr Genting. Stopped first at the Strawberry farm... u can let your kids try out to pluck the strawberries... & they'll charged by weight on the amt you plucked... slightly more ex than u would've brought fr the supermarkets here in s'pore.. but then u need to pay for the experience šŸ˜‚
can easily spend 45mins to an hr there... there's some flowers & mushroom to see on your way out of the farm.

Thereafter you can go for meal at Gohtong Jaya town... quite a lot of eating places... many tze chars types... hor fun, steam fish... the prawn soup with vermicelli is a recommended one... I one I went is called Restoren Tak Kee.

Just came back from Genting 2 weeks ago.

We were in first world tower 2 18th floor, the room has two single beds, big enough for a whole family. And it seemed newly refurbished.
It is quite cold in Genting, thick coat/sweater is strongly suggested.
FYI. The snow world is closed.

          Blessed Homemaker:
I read First World is now newly refurbished, not sure if it's just the lobby or the rooms. Any went recently?
          SP Mummy:

          Dear all Parents,

I intend to go genting with my family in this coming december.

Anyone can advise which is the most comfortable and beautiful hotel to stay in?
I stayed in First World and Theme Park hotels before. It is old and uncomfortable.

We are driving to genting but stopping at KL for a nite first so dun think we can join your convoy, fluffyboy. We've driven up about >3 times. It's relatively easy to get there and quite safe unless you are driving a Ferrari lah... šŸ™‚

Which hotel is better? I visited Theme Park Hotel almost 2 years back and it was renovated quite nicely. How come SP Mummy above said it's old and uncomfortable? When was her last trip there?

My impression of First World Hotel is however quite icky but heard there's a reno going on till 3 June. Perhaps there may be improvements but nevertheless, the toilets are too small for me.

Anyway, I booked Theme Park Hotel already coz my kids wanna go to the park every day. More convenient this way.

                      Wah... :salute:

                      How old are your boys?

I suggest you book from a local travel agent for a package. E.g grassland and five stars (but not limited to these, just giving you some ideas). I find it convenient, especially if you are not driving on your own and don't have any genting points to redeem rooms.

There are toilet points along the way. The whole journey is about 6hr, including toilet/rest points, if you travel by day. It's faster if you travel by night.

Over there, it can be quite crowded but if your boys are old enough to understand instruction and walk on their own, shd be fine. Food places are plentiful.
