All About Getting Priority Registration

sleepy:
To transfer school, this is based on principal's discretion & subject to vacancy availability. If the child's P1 result is good, chances higher
For transfer cases, all principals would find it difficult to reject a very bright child to bring honour to the school in time to come. As long as it does not involve donations, it is not unethical. -
Fairy:
Are you privy to all the details and circumstances of what occurred? I think would not be very fair to cast aspersions on the integrity of a school admin/leadership unless one were very sure.sleepy:

I know of someone who managed to get her son transfered to Pei Hwa a few years back at P2 because her relative 'knows' PH's principal. She was given some Donation Cards to be filled up as PV work! So her 'poor colleagues' ended up 'sponsoring' her son's place at that school.
I was very surprised then as being a mission school, I would least expect them to do such a thing. -
aa…not sure if this is a stupid question but i m really unsure…
since 3 sils are frm Fengshan Primary School, is there any chance of my son being in that sch? (my guess is no coz there’s no relation to this such kind of registration mode, m i right?)
will any seniors please clarify my doubts? thks in advance… -

There is a chance your son can be in that school - only if you manage to get him in Phase 2C. If you are not a PV of the school, you do not qualify in Phase 2B.
Your son being given priority because \"3 sils\" (I presume it's sister-in-law) are there? Definitely NO NO. -
qms:
:? how come then the dad is not in the same school.....when his sis is that school....

hi hi jedamum…
the dad is the 4th child so not possible to be in the same pri sch…hence he went to Bedok Pri Sch whc is currently closed down as of now…keke…whereas the pri sch i was from had merged with another pri sch & more than 2km of my current place…so i guess i hv to work hard in PV…just not sure whc pri sch i shd PV for as of now…hee… -
Dear all, my mom & I owned a HDB (my parent staying there) but my wife & I stay in a private property registered under my wife name.
So if I intend to let my child study the pri school (P1) near my private pty where we are staying (within 1 km), will the school take the HDB addr or private pty addr?
Cos I heard from someone say that if child parent own HDB & private pty, shool/MOE will take the HDB as the base for 1km. Izit true? -

Which address are you showing in your NRIC? You are required to show your NRIC during registration.
By the way, perhaps you would like to report at the Newbie thread first? It's a SOP in KSP.com.

My IC show my private pty addr at marine parade & I stay there but I heard if I owned HDB they will take it as base instead of where I am staying. Is it true? :?

They only take the address shown in your NRIC.
During registration, the only system they use is to check whether you had already registered in other schools. As far as your address is concerned, they check your NRIC. They don't go into another system to check if you own a HDB flat. Not as far as I am aware of.
