Did SMRT COI investigate link between Fare Hikes & Profits?

I think SMRT should be nationalised. You look at the charts and analysis this blogger gave, make sense? No?
SMRT’s Dividend Policy
SMRT has a policy that guides it to distribute at least 60% of their profits as dividends. In fact, it has consistently (since 2006) distributed about 75% or more of their profits. For example, in 2010, it earned 10.7c per share and distributed 8.5c as dividend, amounting to almost an 80% distribution of its profits. Hence, if SMRT consistently distributes most of its profits back to its shareholders, how much does it have to to competently maintain, renew, reinvest and innovate on its operations??
PS: sorry ah, SMRT shareholders in KSP

smrt profits is mainly from retail and rental right? not fares.

Yes. But shouldn't these profits be better used such as increased maintenance or increase SMRT staff salaries? Better still, curb increasing fares.
SMRT priorities are wrong. -
The consistent breakdowns don’t comes overnight.
Can’t be bother is also another key word -

Did you notice, once it breaks down, it keeps on breaking down! Wifey passed a (insensitive) remark last night \"How come the maids suddenly start falling to death\"?The consistent breakdowns don't comes overnight.

They should also study why the NS, EW line, for over a decades, no issues, while the NEW circle line within 1 week got major fault…
When the trains first go on track, OTC was the transport minister…? Look at the quality of the transport minister now… -

It is interesting that you brought up Ong Teng Cheong. He was the only trade unionist who sanctioned a labour strike, without informing the government. great man. They should also study why the NS, EW line, for over a decades, no issues, while the NEW circle line within 1 week got major fault..

He tried to fulfill his presidential duties but were hit by road blocks. in retrospect, there isn't much about Ong, no books no memoirs? -
I seriously think this blogger has the potential to surpass TOC..
His latest argument on SMRT COI
