sometimes i cried…anger is directed more at myself.

not easy to make up when the kids get older…so if family bond is strong, it is easier to make up.

luckily this is not a frequent thing.

How to scold them when the school workload is so heavy and they
would sometime look dreamy and blur !! :faint: :faint:

Sometime i tell myself - not worth the pushing and make DS unhappy :scratchhead:

so no more scolding allowed in schools.... let's see how our children will behave next time......

imagine 6-7hrs in school don't tell me the students don't do funny things or make mistakes there.... what's the problem of getting some scolding from the teachers in school??? how many times we scold our children when they are at home???

sometimes we adults also get scolded by boss in workplace lah.... can we tell our parents to make police report??? :slapshead:

Think is over-react to go to make a report just on this. Not like child abuse or what.

Sometimes, as parents, we need to pick our battles to fight, even if it is with our own children. Some things are simply not worth getting angry over.

In this case, I wonder what is the learning point here by reporting to the police?

I don’t see how these words even qualify as hurtful. I could think of a lot more hurtful words that could be more damaging to a child’s self esteem.

I think the teacher is probably more exasperated/high blood pressure than anything the child felt. most kids today are like "say what you like" I don’t care, and make the teacher/parent more exasperated than ever.

there is a possibility the parent (s) could have been treated badly in this manner by a teacher previously. they could have felt humiliated (especially if they were innocent but teachers already labelled them and thought any trouble must be started by them)…so to have their child going through the same kind of hell they had been through once could have been the cause.

I do wonder, if teachers in SG are scared to scold/punish the child, won’t there be a loss of authority in the classroom? Also, when the child grows up and is unable to take any form of scolding, how then will the child be able to survive in the cold hard world leh?

DS has a teacher who’s really fierce…but only to those who consistently don’t hand up homework or who gives really bad handwriting. A bit hoping that DS2 won’t get her, but then it could be good practice for him to start making sure his handwriting doesn’t look like amulet writing.

As per the report the school and the teacher apologized.

Maybe the teacher said something really nasty. The child must be upset very emotionally.
