WAHHHH angel u r productive !!! 3 kids in 4 yrs , my mil will love u hahaMe reporting! Ha ha.... This is for my third child. She will likely be under phase 1, coz she will join jie jie in her school.
Thing is, jie jie is registering this year in July and I still haven't make up my mind where to go.
Both schools which I have in mind will be under phase 2B. The difference between the 2 is school (A) is 1-2km and school (B) is >2km and school (B) surely needs to ballot.
Still thinking....

Same here, we were looking for house even before my boy is born, but can't buy when the price is low as our HDB is less than 5 years. After we fulfill the minimum 5 years, the property price became much higher. Then sian already (especially when we compared to the low property prices a few years back - shouldn't look at property when we can't buy haiz), plus we were busy with my pregnancy and our new baby soon after. So still \"looking\", though not very on and always turned off by the price. Now will take into consideration my boy's future school when we start looking for property again. But haven't decide on which school yet, so haven't really start our engine to look for new property yet. But I know have to decide by next year.
Baby_May2009:nlimm:
Yup, reporting for DD under Phase 2A2 or Phase 2B, 1km. Scouting for a house already... that's how kiasu we are.

Cherry gal: which sch r u targetting ? Same here hunting for house but property price just do steep
U targetting for phrase2C? Talk abt property, the gd sch behind my Plc within 1km phrase2C based on history is 4:1 now trying to give up the idea n move near alumni sch but also in risk as not sure what's the change -

I will try to target 2B. I still have 1/2 year to decide. Think will see which school accept me as parental volunteer before deciding where to move to unless we found a place that we really love (but highly unlikely as we have not been looking around much). Actually, to tell you the truth, I used to think that I will not want to be so Kiasu and spend time to volunteer in school for the purpose of enrollment, but the situation now leave me with no choice unless I really do nothing and base on luck in phase 2C - which is very tempting for me, but what if he goes to a really lousy school just because mummy is lazy?
Is your alumni good? Lucky you if it's good, cause it seems that phase 2A now is quite confirmed. -

Y must it be within the next 6 mths?
Must we be staying at the residence address we be using for registration at the point of PV application?
Same here, when I 1st gave birth my Frd told me once I get my boy's BC to register him for a kindy & both hb & myself don't believe, wanted to check out the sch 1st . So we went down when my boy was 6mths & we r told to be on waitlist@-@ something is really wrong to know tt there's waitlist for kindy preNursery -

I meant I have 6 more months to decide on the school, not property

6 months because we have to register to be a parent volunteer next year if we want to be one, so 6 more months to go before next year.
Waitlist for Kindy when your kids are only 6 months old? Must be those popular Kindy like Nanyang or st James. Yes, I also can't understand why Kindy has Waitlist and I also found out that the more expensive the child care center is, the longer the Waitlist. -
If the brother or sister have finish PSLE & left school then the child is still under Phase 1 or what phase?

Phase 2A2.

Phrase 2A2 -
I’m a late mummy with only child. Used to laugh at those who are so suck into the P1 registration system until now when I have one and everybody start stressing to me abt it! Forgive my ignorance, what’s the latest vibe about parental volunteer system. I was under the impression those who stay within 1 km of the school would be given priority, unless it is over subscribe, then priority would be given to those who volunteer. Recently I learnt that it is the reverse. Parents who volunteer will have priority and when PV is more than the places available, then priority would be given to those who stay within 1 km. I thought this PV system will be scrapped for good! In fact, I read on Sunday Times that the very popular schools have raised the bars to increase more hours and seek for ‘proposals’ to improve the school’s supposedly already high education standards.

Seems like you are not familiar with the P1 registration system. Suggest you read up the FAQs created by Chief Kiasu and the MOE website for more information:

If you do not have any links to the school of your choice (e.g. alumni, parent volunteer, clan/church member, etc.), you fall under Phase 2C. This phase starts only after Phase 2B, which is for parent volunteers.
After Phase 2A, whatever remaining vacancies will be split into two - half each for Phases 2B and 2C. If you are a parent volunteer, you get to apply in Phase 2B. If you are not successful in Phase 2B, you get another chance to apply in Phase 2C. Within each phase itself, if demand exceeds supply, there will be balloting. This is when distance comes into play because priority will be given to those staying nearer to the school.
