If look at the size of the objects, it really doesn't make sense since C is as small but displaces a greater volume

Most of the time, we would consider waste as undigested food. However, for science, waste is not undigested food. Waste refers to the remains of the food that has no more use. Undigested food refers to food that still contain useful substances but are not digested yet. Although we can find undigested food in our waste (especially if we lau sai ) the rectum is meant for storage of waste and not undigested food.

Given those 2 choices, I would think that undigested food is stored in large intestine. The rectum stores waste. According to the primary science books/guides, it is written that 'water and mineral salts are absorbed from the undigested food in the large intestine'. When the end product moves to the rectum, it is considered as undigested waste materials to be passed out of the body through the anus as faeces.

Looking through the whole digestive system, shouldn't the undigested food (or most of it) be stored in the stomach instead? Afterall, that's where the food accummulates, gets broken down into simpler substances and churned into this yucky liquidy mess, while waiting for its turn to go into the small intestine for the major part of digestion to take place. When it comes to hunger, we do term it as having an \"empty\" or a \"full\" stomach.

Just my 2 cents worth...

That's why I always remind my dd to look for key words and their associated partners, be specific in description and use the correct terms in each topic. As far as I can see in primary school science, there's no such things as \"I think\", \"the picture looks like that wat!\", etc. If it's not written down or deduced or calculated from the facts given, cannot make your own assumptions to be so. She's not conducting experiments or testing a hypothesis - yet!

Hi, could any science guru kindly explain this question to me? Answe from school is 4, but my son's answer is 3. Thought that since water has a definite volume and took up 50 cubic cm of fixed space, since container A has a volume of 120 cubic cm, then the amount of air that can occupy the container will be 70cubic cm? :idea:

P4 syllabus teaches that gas can be compressed. So u can put 100cm3 of oxygen into a smaller volume of space.
