About the STELLAR program

plum-cake:
thanks, thats why I wanted to know the school. so I can figure which school is using which books.
Most schools would have their English HOD to share on the Stella programme, during the orientation. It happened for my DS. You can then get hold of the HOD and ask her for the titles? I know of parents who did that... -

There is no English text books in the booklist for my dd P1. The only book she needs to buy for English is Magic Finger by Roald Dadl. Next year P2 is Fantastic Mr Fox also by Roald Dadl.KSP:
Are all schools using the same STELLAR contents? My DD's school is using STELLAR but not all the same as mentioned above.
The books are divided into different packages. So you have to know the package your child's school purchases.
Having seen my DS through this P1 year, personally I don't see a need to buy the books for home use (just my personal opinion)... -
Hi I got the book pack from my school, in that I've received a book called Stellar hand writing 1. there is no text books as you've mention it's depends on the school I think.

My son is studying in St Hilda’s Pri. His P1 Stellar books this year are :
1. Mrs Wishy-Washy
2.Dan The Flying Man
3. Walking Through the Jungle
4. Poggy and the Cows
5. There is a nightmare in my closet
6. Mr Gumpy’s Outing
7. Whoose hooves? -
I remeber using some of them at Julia Gabrial’s edu drama class. I still have the work sheets they provide. e.x. Mr.Gumpy’s outing

I wonder … how do kids improve their grammer with Stellar programme?
Don’t get me wrong. After what I’ve read so far, sounds like a great programme in cultivating reading interest and most importantly no textbooks - excellent! -

There is a workbook for each story. In fact, the spelling words and dictation is based on the story too. As for compositions, the topic is usually something related to the spelling words or dictation. For example, the story on Mr Gumpy's outing might require the child to write a compo about a trip to the bird park.I wonder ... how do kids improve their grammer with Stellar programme?

My personal experience.
You should beef up your child's grammar and vocab with extensive reading. extra practice and coaching. The grammar/vocab touched on
by the teacher could be very elementary, yet they will be tested on
various aspects of grammar and vocab, mostly not directly taught in
school.
Mine only has one \"Topical Grammar\" for P1 and it was not used until
quite late, term 3. It is only half done at the end of term 4. -
Hi Parents,
Where can I get information on the list of primary schools that adopt STELLAR?
Thanks
