All About Full-Time Maids

Ya true now I just set the criteria like age, height & weight, educational qualification. Duties requirment let the agent do the short listing.
Hi Titank, I was posted with the same questions too. But if you view it from another angle, the agency probably would like to match your expections with those of the helper. I think there is a need to prioritise some of those work so that what's important to your household are taken care first. It could be cleaniness or childcare but doesnt't mean that they are selective in their duties.titank:
Hi All,
Been walking with a few agencies & most of them asked me the same question:
Agent :\" What do you want the maid to do?\"Household? Cooking?Childcare? Baby care? Elderly Care?
Myself : \" Of course must do everything, maid now can select thier duties of perference?\"

Hi,
just want to share my experience with Best Home Employment Agency @ thomson plaza.
We chose a filipino maid based on the bio=data and the agent did let us interview the maid over the phone. It was indicated that the maid has 1 child in the bio-data but end up when she finally arrived, she confessed she got 3 children - all from different fathers and the bio-data was not filled up by her. We felt cheated! When we questioned the agency, the agent just stated that the bio-data came from a philippine agency and they dont verified. End up, as the maid missed her 3 kids too much, we have to change another maid.
Just cant trust the bio-data or agent’s words. -
:shock: 3 children from 3 different fathers :shock:
I'm not pleased with my current filipino maid, can vent my frustration in this thread? -

Like that you had to buy another maid insurance, pay for the safety course? If Maid Agencies don't verify the accurancy of Bio-data then how can we be able to verify? -
Hi,
Just to share my personal experience.
I usually employ transfer maid, reason being I can see and interview them face to face.
This is more reliable than looking at biodata.
Of course, I have to first determine why the maid is transferred in the first place.
If the reasons are:
1. Current employer lost the job;
2. Taking care of ah gong and ah ma, but has passed away and no longer need the maid;
3. Communication problem with eldery
I deem it as long as the problem doesn’t lie with the maid, it is still the safest bet to have a transfer maid.
I prefer transfer maid due to the below reasons:
1. Can interview in person
2. Short waiting time
3. Can call current employer to find out the reason of transfer
4. May have shorter loan repayment period
I have a very shocking experience once when I choose a new maid from the biodata. When I went to fetch the maid, it turned out to be a different person :!: according to the maid, the data is hers but the agent pasted the wrong photo!!! :x
So after a few unpleasant experiences with new maids, I have thus employed transfer maids.
Just my 2cents thought…

But sometimes they just take things for granted. At times they will come out with something shocking and you just gotta educate her once again and this is really irritating! Consider I'm home with my toddler.
Mine is not a perfect maid and if she wanna renew her contract I dont mind, if she doesnt just let it be. -

yes, what to do - the maid agency still hold loan repayment of $2k. With singapore's law, we as employer always have to bear all the responsibilties and cost even it is none of our fault.
