This group’s alma mater is neighbourhood schs (I mean both parents; since if 1 parent was from a gd same sex sch, chances of child different sex from parent is low) –> proportion to total is small.

In reality, how many parents come from good sch produce 3 children?

In reality, schs/teachers are transferring half if not more of their teaching responsibilities to parents in the disguise of collaboration. Middle income & onwards parents have the means to send kids for enrichment/tuition. This group won’t go for more children, max 2. I believe the govt knows this. They want the rich and good ones to go to good schs to churn out scholars to enter politics and lead S’pore.

Compare before & after 1992 the yr govt delinked education & population policies. You see more elitism post 1992. You have EM1/2/3, GEP, IP, IB, teach less learn more, modular approach etc etc I wonder what’s next. For what purpose? Reason so obvious.

So you think govt would want those with more children to get priority? Remember the article about don’t give birth and give birth until you cannot support and enter into poverty or can’t get out of poverty?

Govt want more children so that they have more CPF funds for their investments, so that they have more taxes.

I still think with the enhanced M&P package, majority won’t go for 3. The package only push for earlier births (for those married with no children) and additional 1 child (for those with existing 1 child).

        Hi

What about joining a clan? Apart from Hokkien Clan, any other clan out there?

Best is to get to phase 2B either by pv, grassroot or clan/church.

if you plan earlier (before PV cut off date), the most straight forward way is PV. Phrase 2B.

Almost guaranteed if you are within 1 km from school, unless that school is exceptionally popular

            grassroot need early planning too.

There is no need for you to get before 2C. Just secure a place in your 2nd preferred school and later ask for transfer; which the P can decide. This part is not regulated.

                hi matrix0405,

your point is interesting…but what are the valid reasons that we can give to the sch when requesting for transfer?

To transfer school, this is based on principal’s discretion & subject to vacancy availability. If the child’s P1 result is good, chances higher

First you must have that relationship, then it is easy to find a valid reason. Otherwise, they are all excuses.

To get into a good primary school, you really need good luck charms and well versed connections. This is what happened to a relative of mine, her daughter went into Nanyang Primary via a mere call!

For my baby, I don't need this. A reasonably repute primary school will be fine for us
