Jennifer dearest... Thank u for sharing your personal experiences.
I think God is very fair. He gives me a boy who matured earlier and also a boy who is still treading on the line
My P5 boy did very well in the mock paper MCQ 58/60 but barely passed Section B. So we spent many days working on Section B. SA2 results? Section B pulled up 30/40 BUT BUT BUT MCQ took a slashing.
I was and still am very angry with him. I questioned him why he could focus in our revision but could not do a simple checking at SA1. He told me the mistakes were all wrong interpretation. He knows the right answer. Heartache, right?
I told him this is only sch exams. But PSLE has only 1 chance. He better wises up and do a thorough reading of the qns at PSLE.
I rest my case. Like what u said, parents could burnt out before the child sits for PSLE :xedfingers: -

Did they get back the paper today? My boy told me that there are number of arguments about this SA1 science paper.

Talking about time mgmt skills, I have been telling my DD to do the important things 1st, followed by the less important ones. She then turned to me & ask what is the meaning of \"important\". :slapshead:
We hv to take into consideration the child's time mgt skills and the no. of distractions the child is facing.
I realise she has little sense of time and no sense of urgency to complete doing something. How can I drill the concept of time into her brain? -

Time management skill is crucial now…I put a timer on son’s table. Each time he does his work, I will calculate the minutes he has for that section. Cannot play play. Speed and accuracy is key. In the past, i was concerned mainly with accuracy.

My elder boy has a \"great sense of time\" since toddlerhood. Whenever he napped and woke up late to watch his TV cartoons, our hse would be filled with outbursts of \"我要刚才\" until we distracted him with something else. his terrible two's was tied very closely to TV cartoons

My younger boy aspires to be a multi-tasker. He can do sth now, jump to sth else, leaving the 1st thing unfinished :stupid:

Jennifer,
Your boy’s score of 30/40 for section B is amazing !!!
I know the big discount in section A was hard to accept. What is important is he knows his mistakes.
