      MMM:
      winchester:

pap candidates mostly sound better talk better as more educated than the opposition ones, esp the older opposition candidates.

That I agree. I think they sound better in general. Even DC, I actually thought he speaks better (both languages) than PEH during interviews. Well... he is after all a scholar... what do we expect???

However, I saw PEH's East GRC speech and he can be engaging in his own manner. Just that the way the PAP carries themselves has a professional feel.

But in this case, the election is not about who can speak better. It's about what the people wants.

I think it's clear for me and alot of people that though we want an alternative voice, we are happy that PAP continues to represent the country in general.

sound better for what? so they can sound professional when lying to people? :siam:

rather have an honest bloke who is less polished than someone who's suave and smooth but whom I can't trust. :skeptical:

so educated for what? or rather, educated also so what? it's not abt fancy speeches, big words, great degrees. It's abt the heart and why they are there, and what they are prepared to do for the people.

Backed by such a fancy rich machinery like the PAP, hard to say that they would do the same if they had no such backing, still stick their necks out with zero funding. by standing with the incumbent ruling party, they are hugely discounted by voters already. not because the ruling party is ALL BAD, but because they have serious flaws and those who are new have no leeway not to agree with the party's sacred cows.

Yes, we will definitely go. Wonder when is PAP's rally... no news yet...

My biggest concern is thursday nite. It's the day before the cooling day. Usually big turnout.... I've a business dinner that night.... Wonder how to go home after that when the crowd disperse. Also... maybe they will do the pledge again at the end.

Was talking to fil about election.

He was upset with the wet market preposition. He was like what??? Build again? Then in the first place, why tear it down???? Wasting tax payers' monies still can proclaim so loudly about building a NEW wet market.

har? you don’t know they like to do these things meh? Only about 2 years back, they upgraded the market near my place - we had to find alternative breakfast place for a while. Then I hear they are going to close down the market to replace the tables and chairs.

Seriously, hawkers nonid to eat? And it’s so fun to upgrade and then start thinking about what’s going to be done next. Haiz. Maybe this call job creation.

In Hougang's case, the whole thing is gone... when they demolished some flats in that area. So that piece of land is empty now. So it's not an upgrade but really spend monies to build the entire market again....

Yah I suppose it's a kind of job creation.

By the time they realize, all hawkers would have already retired, or their zhuchuanmifang would have already passed away with them. Then will need to get FTs.. to be hawkers. Haha. Talking about starting things from scratch. Certain things once lost can never get back.
