heard from my dd that for p2, there’s only banding classes for chinese…maths n english, she’s not clear… as only one girl going for english n maths… but seems weird as she says that the ones going for the english n maths banding classes are the ones who are weak in those subjects… but for chinese, its those who are good in chinese?

BTW, what exactly is "banding" of subjects?

VooVoo:

What is generally the marks for Top 5 of each class - P1, P2? Close to 100%?

Depends.

DD was top 5 last year in her P2 class (289/300). Later we found out that she would be at best 7th or 8th in another class.

should be able to find out the overall raking in the cohort

The school will tell you that?

Anyway, we are not overly concern of her position.

The competition is indeed tense in this school

Can I ask what is the advantage of being in HA class? Why is it important? DD going Nanyang P1 next yr, so since this topic is being mentioned, I thot I better ask to understand better. Thx!
