      Hi,

there is no PTM this term.

      Only Term 1 & Term 2.

Previous years, only Term 2. So, this year, improvement.

      Regards

          Hi lemofish,

3J is the best class. I believe, followed by 3I.

Thanks Emelyn! But what about 3K? BTW, do you know the selection criteria? Is it based on all 3 subjects or just English & Maths?

There is no 3K in 2010. I know there is in 2009, but it is because there were 2O in 2008. This year, 2009, only 2L.

The criteria is based on English & Maths. Mother Tongue is \"classified\" separately. That is, your child can be in 3J but if he is not the top 80 - 90 in Chinese, he will have to go to another class for Chinese lessons.

So, basically, based on English & Maths, top 80-90... goes to 3I and 3J.
Chinese, if top 80-90, goes to 3I and 3J. If >91, then go to other non I and J classes.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

From P3 to P4, the class \"allocation\" will be based on English & Math. Science no included.

From P4 to P5, and P5 to P6, it will be based on English, Math & Science.

                Hi Emelyn,

Thanks for the explanation. I have a better picture now. Hopefully my son can go to one of the 2 classes. Cheers! :celebrate:

                  thanks Emelyn for the clarification…

I was quite confused with the classes in BPPS…

I think there are 3 competent classes in 2010 P4 cos 4J, 4K and 4L are required to buy an additional english vocab book…

Emerlyn, does that mean every year they would shuffle the class based on their results excluding chinese so the top 40+ would be in 1st class next 40+ in the next and so forth…

Yap ! For the past X years, it has been like that. But there is a new principal this year. Not sure if she will change the \"pattern\" from 2011 onwards. At least for 2010, it is still like that.

For the rest of the classes, it will be mixed ability. That is, for eg (not saying this is EXACTLY what's happening...but I'm just trying to illustrate), #80- #83 go to A, #84 to #86 go to B, $87 to #89 go to C, and so on.

Heard tt for next yr, they are trying to \"disguise\" the competent classes so that no one knows which are the competent classes. But, unless ur child is P3 nx yr which is the 1st yr they split, it would difficult to disguise lah. Cos if you are in competent classes in P3/P4/P5, and next yr, you see roughly the same people in your class, then you are still in the competent classes lor. You know what I mean ?

I know this year, P4... there is a P4PO class which is P4 Pull Out class... basically a class for children who need extra help.

For P5 2010, I know there is a Foundation class for weaker students too. But not sure which alphabet.

yup there was a 3PO in 2009 too but i think they changed the class to 3L subsequently…
