There is a regression in my girl’s 2nd term result as compared to 1st term. The paper seems to be quite difficult for a P1 student as per my view. Lots of careless mistakes made. According to my girl, no time to chk thru the paper especially

Math. Their textbk n file were kept in school and hence difficult to do revision prior to the tests. I don’t think currently P1 n 2 are having any honeymoon period.

Definitely had a shock in terms of workload n Chinese compo n its oral requirements at p3.

In fact, I had feedback to Chinese tr on the huge gap of making really simple sentences in 2nd semester of p2 to writing flowery compo based on 4 pictures ( sometimes last 1 is blank!) or a required sentence, weekly zhouji from 1st term of p3. Ds was so ill equiped that he could spend the entire Sat on it. Ended up needed lots of our help n ate into family time.
Guess bcos his was the 1st batch of rubic assessment? Perhaps sch is fine-tuning. P1 & 2 now?
Rr SA preparation, his science tr distributed answer keys on the day b4 exam 4 parents to mark n suoervise the corrections

Not sure whether my girl is stressed in terms of workload or she is still in midst of adaptation, she complained sick and went to General Office for five times in consecutive 2 weeks. I hv to go down to school to fetch her home at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I'm not sure whether this will \"mark\" by her teacher as she has been missing some of her classes. I hv talked to her numerous time over the phone but she juz refused to return to her class and kept crying. When I signed on the early departure bk, I realized that there are lots of cases with similar \"illness\" as my girl.

Hopefully she is okay after holiday.... 🙏

Honest speaking, when I did a comparision between my elder son SA1 paper when he was in p2 and my p2 daughter’s mastery paper,I felt that the paper actually got easier.

My girl said the same things when she tried to take her brother SA1 papers.

But for upper primary SA1 papers, they are different stories.
The practice papers (usually school past year papers) are much easier than the actual SA1 papers although it is still on par with top school exam papers.

In my opinion, the school is trying to slow down the lower primary so as to build stronger fountation while driving the upper primary by setting tougher questions.

              Oh dear, that's indeed frequent.

I heard ds said his friend tried to keng skipping supplementary class but General office sent him back to class when found no fever.
Many early departures last few weeks bcos some were sick so parents fetched them home after taking exams.
If her sickness is genuine, then let her go back to sch after full recovery?
If it's psychological, then trickier as numerous causes from friend's remarks, bullies, teachers... to stress n workload etc.
Perhaps u can pare down any out-of-sch activities n workload n readjust her expectation?

DS was having fever on/off for the past few weeks. After 1-2 days he went back to school after fever subsided, he will complained to teacher that he was having fever again. Each time, he was tested at the General Office for having fever.

I suspected it is the aircon room which spread the virus around…but again, it was my suspicious. I feed him more vitamins now to increase his own immunity. Was surprised to read similar cases as him.

                  Hi Vevey,

She complained feeling sick after eating the maggi noodle and prata. There is one particular time she vomitted in school. She was holding a plastic bag when i reached school. From this incident, she kept calling from school claiming discomfort after recess and whenever i asked her to buy food from school. Now, I'm trying to pack food for her everyday and hence no excuse from her of complaining sick after eating the food.

I hv sent an email to her FT after I found out that there is a regression in her 2nd term result and also numerous careless mistakes made in her worksheet. She fared well in her 1st term result. Her FT claimed that she is no longer feeling enthusiastic about her study and less participation.

Not sure whether it's due to the teacher as she denied the teacher scolding her. She has lots of friends, some even from her preschool. No particular reason from her. Will continue to monitor her and 🙏 that she is okay after holiday. :xedfingers:

V badv weather + exam stress ..newspaper reported flu cases all time high in spore.

Even hmfd also increased in ori sch. So really must take care n away from crowds when immunity is low.
I heard from ds that aircon is often set at 18degrees by the pm session sharing his classroom while his tr set a rule said can only set at 25degree.
Perhaps it's hotter in pm, but imagine the contrast after pe n recesses.
Ds usually wear his sweater for 1st hr of the class till going for recess.

Ya pack 4 her for time being n then slowly transit her to canteen food when she is more comfy w it.

Is she a big eater? Bcos I m surprised she can wolf down noodle +prata within 20 min. Might really b bad case of indigestion as prata will expand in tummy afterwards.

Did her tr said ur dd is bored in class or...?

Sorry, should be on separate occasion. She ate maggi and prata separately on different day. She is small and slow eater. Initially, I worried whether she has enough time to consume her food but no choice lah, she must \"expedite\" her eating speed.

Her FT didn't say much over the phone, juz claim that she lack of enthusiastic in class and asked whether i hv sent her for any tuition (she tot my girl cannot catch up with her lesson). However, I chat with my girl yesterday regarding her school's issue, she said that her FT didnt select her whenever she raised her hand for quiz time. So your guessing might be correct that she feels bored in her FT's lesson as her FT has lesser attention toward her. I can't blame her FT as she needs to take care the whole class of 30 students. What i can do now is trying to talk sense to her.
