Singapore for Singaporeans?

I am ok with Malaysians. What I am irritated is the loud yakking of the Filipino maids...they shout across the street, shout out from the balcony of their employers' flat and when ther are just 2 of them walking, it's like a gang together...like crows or mynahs.
Exactly my point...we are in fact so heavily surrounded by \"foreigners from Malaysia\" for many eons but there was no or little effect on us. So I really do not think we dislike foreigners so much but currently PRCs and Pinoys seem to irk us a bit.LOLMum:
Huh, I seem to be surrounded by Malaysians.
My dd and ds's friends, teachers from Malaysia. My neighbors also Malaysians. My bukit timah hill walks buddies also Malaysian. My beautican's partner also Malaysian.....my friends also Malaysians.
Can't tell the difference until I heard them talking about going home for cny. -
fightingmom:
You can find many filipinos working in hospitals (nurses), retail and service industry (McDonald's). Indians are very good in IT. Not many angmoh around now...their expat package is not attractive compared to 10 years ago.snowfly:
Are there really a lot PRCs here in SG?
Depends on which industry you are in. If it is banking and finance , I believe Caucasians are more. If it is IT , then Indians nationality will be employed more often. If it is service & hospitality industry then most probably you will find quite a handful of Filipinos .
Correct me if I am wrong.

Example like the PR for 40 years who is rumored to refuse to convert to citizen?
But many of them too took advantage of working n living here as PRs,
which was as gud as SG citizenship without its obligations.
Ms Saw.. ex-CEO of SMRT.. talent indeed.. wonder how many Singaporeans suffered due to the talented management of SMRT.. -

Not sure about ministers..
got ah? Who?? Soverykiasu2010:
even some ministers in the government are recent converts to SG citizens, some in oppo too
But MPs quite a number..
like the one who didn't served NS
and the one who fiddled with HP while the national anthem is played, during NDP, in front of national TV. -

I also experience the same reaction - some of my neighbours , especially those who just shifted in , thought I hail from China. I always tell them jokingly \"Aiyo, ๆไปๅคดๅฐ่้ฝๆฏ made in Singapore lah ! \"

They attract talents (althou the selection process leaves much to be desired..).
And the next question is, why aren't the govt attracting more Malaysians here with study scholarships since they can mingle with us better? Would it not solve the govt's problem the same and still make everyone happy?
If Malaysia don't have the talents, attract them also no use.. I certainty don't want \"talents\" like Ms Saw. -
