DS2 was asking DH to bring him to the post office to buy stamps. Yes, the stamps used for posting the snail mails.

It started with one day when he received a letter from one of his K2 classmates who’s studying in another Primary school now. DS2 was excited to read the letter and eagered to write a letter for return and posted it in a mail box by himself.

Now the correspondences continue, and hopefully it will add some excitement to the young learner’s study routine.

DH is reading Dr. Seuss’ The Butter Battle Book©1984 with DS2.

Father(thinking himself loudly): The story reminds me of the two super powers in the time of cold war…

Son(talking softly): To eat the bread with the butter side down is nothing different from to have it with the butter side up. You spread the butter on the one side of the bread, and you can turn it up or down as you like.

The Lord (speechless): Human beings like to divide themselves among themselves so that there is a reason for one party to be confronted with another. One always wants to lauch something to outdo the other. And it calls for an inconventional wisdom and courage to break this vicious cycle.

Maybe having watched too much Harry Potter, DS2 kept asking what the graveyard is.

DH brought DS2 to Bukit Brown, and DS2 insisted to have a walk along the place.

Pointing to those tombs which were marked with erected wooden plates, DH told DS2 that those tombs would have to be removed to give ways to the new road to be built.

Unbelieving what he heard, DS2 said, "Don’t they scare to wake up those who are asleeping there?"

DS1 realised his stationery case must have dropped off from his opened backpack only when he sat down at the desk to start his study at home. His thumb driver was among many items in the case.

DH and DS1 went back to the school and traced all the way from the lecture room to the bus stop. At the near end of the covered pathway leading to the bus station, the bulged stationery case was found over there sitting at the top of the half wall. Someone must have placed it there after having spotted the stationery case on the pathway earlier.

The stationery was dropped on the pathway at about 5 pm. And it was back to its owner’s hands at 8 pm. There had been many students and others passing by where the stationery case was during this period.

DH praised the good integrity character of the students. DS1 shared me another story in which he spotted a wallet with more than $100 notes inside at the outside of his classroom and returned it to the school admin office.

There is a Chinese saying: 好心有好报. Indeed, there is a reward for every good deed.

DS1 was preparing for his school’s "idol contest". He downloaded the song from the web and found the software to eliminate the lyric so that he could use it as his living band when he would entered the contest to perform the next day.

When DS1 was rehearsing in his room, DW overheared and then was alarmed by the "kisses" and "making love" in the lyric of the song.

DS1 was upset when DW interfered to ask not to pick this song. He had spent his whole evening time to prepare for his debut of solo.

DH suggested DS1 to consult with his teacher for the properness of the song’s lyric before he would enter his contest the next day.

Finally, DW and DS1 agreed to rewrite that part of lyric.

Later, DW told DH that DS1 did not comprehend what "making love" was.

Last weekend, DH brought DS2 to DS1’s school to watch DS2 singing in the choir. When DH asked if DS2 would like to perform on the stage like Gege, he shaked his head and said he would be shy.

DW bought two footballs from UK. DS1 and DS2 everyday have their fun time with football before dinner. Currently, there is serial drama Journey To The West shown on Channel 8 at 7pm on week days. They just finish playing football by 7pm and tune on Channel 8 and take their show and have their meals during the commercial intervals of the show.

DH was at airport. The time showed the flight had landed. DH rang her Singapore mobile number. The phone was still in switch-off mode. After another two-or-three failed attempts to contact the FDH, DH decided to leave the airport.

The FDH had served her two-year contract. She joined in her family back in her homeland before retuning for a new lease of contract with us. This FDH started with us when DH was working overseas. She did give a lot of help to the family, though we found there were something missed during her employment with us.

During her home visit break, we as a family found what we had missed. DSs suddenly became matured a lot, while DS1 could act as a good big brother to guide DS2. They played and had fun together, enjoying the brotherhood rather than only fighting or quarrelling with each other. They even learned to do some simple house chore, which was impossible when there was a FDH around at home.

One day, DW worried about if the FDH would return or not after the home visit. Then, DW said to herself and the family that she thought we could manage ourselves without a FDH.

There was no FDH at the begining. DS1 grew up with the helps from GPA & GMA and old neighbors, babysitters occasionally. Until DS2 joined in this family, we hired the first FDH. It is a happy starting and ending. After two years, she retuned hometown for good. After that we had a bad experience briefly, before DW chose this FDH who was recommended from DW’s colleague.

“Ring…” DH’s phone rang when he was heading to city direction. FDH was at the arrival hall.

The next two years, we would like to see DS1 & DS2 growing up more. As for now, DS1 has surpassed DW’s height and DH’s weight. DS2 is still trying to make sense with his academic competition, as he is more in a fun learning mode.
