CHIJ Family of Schools

Sorry, meant to specify CHIJ Katong Primary
-
CHIJ Katong primary is only affiliated to CHIJ Katong secondary. No affiliations to other CHIJ schools such as IJ Toa Payoh or St Nicks.
If your gal comes from CHIJ Katong and wants to go to CHIJ St Nicholas, she needs to compete with pple from other non-IJ schools based on PSLE score (> 252 I think)… u need to check this coz changes every year.
CHIJ St Nicholas Sec is only affiliated to CHIJ St Nicholas primary (that’s why everyone clamouring to enter that primary school). -
And if your gal is already in CHIJ Katong, she can go to Dunman High if she does very well (250 - 265). And if she does even better (265 and above), just send her to Nanyang Girls or RGS.
It will be very far for her to travel if she goes to CHIJ St Nicholas in AMK, assuming you are now staying in the East. -

I shall be registering my daughter under phase 2B this year. With the recent policy change, is it worth risking for IJ TP or should I stick to Katong?
Depends on where you live. I think you can risk it at CHIJ TP. But do consider the distance you need to travel.
To me, not much difference in standard for primary level in both schools. Only difference is the secondary affiliation.
Depends on the individual coz my fren had 2 daughters fr CHIJ Katong primary. One got into RGS while the other went to CHIJ Katong Secondary. So I am saying CHIJ Katong also can nurture RGS material. -

Er.......btw, in DHS... so far have not seen a non- chinese pupil in this sch.
(in consideration question by the poster by the nick of \"indian mother of 2\") -
I wonder why… any reasons augmum?
-
Because DHS is a Sap school, only offering Chinese as its mother tongue.

I live in Tampines so I am beyond 2km to each school. But travelling wise, I think IJ Toa Payoh will be more convenient because I have to drop off son at Maris Stella.Namie:
