      Hi MMM,

      Thanks! Your kids there too?

I am worried because totally new environment & no friend for him. But luckily, got to know a boy from his phonics class was from this school too. Kong hwa is the nearest but didn't get in last year.
Yes. I was an old girl. I've a P5, P4 and P1 in MBS. I like the fact that they have good CCA selection (eg. Band, Chinese orchestral, wushu, robotics, chinese dance, choir, badminton, etc...) which I am hoping that we can use to land my older kids into a decent sec school via dsa. Importantly, they enjoy school so far and are passionate about their CCA.

MBS is also the type of school that will actually give more resource to weaker students. Eg. smaller class size for weaker kids.

They have overseas immersion programmes starting from P4. Eg. my p4 is now in BJ and coming back today. My P5 did Nanjing last year. My P5 also did some NYGH camp that was organised by the school this june hols. The older kids are also doing some music talent development camp organised by MOE which avails to MBS students due to their performance in band CCA. There are alot of opportunities for exposure depending on area of interest.

Of course, nothing is perfect eg. there are years that we got numerous change of teachers due to pregnancy, etc.... or I felt they could do more for EL language. But overall, my kids are proud of being in MBS so that matters most.

Thanks phttph!! Will be going to school to collect the acceptance letter.

        kamsy,

m surprise that the sch only call you now to inform they have vacancy. I know there are a few classes with less than 29 students. My son's class is one of them.

P1 workload is definitely v manageable. My p1 only has homework like 2 or 3x a week. Most are done in class.

Thanks MMM for your long info. Hope my son enjoy it too.

Lostbunny, I waitlisted since jan 2012. I understand I am on queue 28. Don’t know why got vacancy for son now. Base on ballot too?

We are staying at cassia crescent, not very near. Distance is a problem.

Maybe there are students who transfer out or students who apply for leave of absence due to parents' overseas secondment.
Not sure where is cassia crescent. The sch has lots of sch bus, perhaps you can check w them if they go to your place.

                    Hi,

You might want to call up the school bus service to check with them directly. I think they do have bus from Punggol. Probably those mini van type. We are at upper serangoon (near HIPS) and we are paying $125 for the mini van.

jslbt76 - Don't think any school bus ply woodlands cos it is really too far. Anyway, it is still best to contact the school bus operator to find out. Visit the school website for the contact no. (not sure if the link below works)
