My son will also join 1K next year. We will probably meet each other this Sat in class. : )

My son is in 2H this year. I bought his books from Popular and saved some money (more than $10). So I'm going to do so this year and skip the queue in TNS this Sat. We can always go back again to buy uniforms.

I think I know who your son is....such a coincidence!! Your boy goes to the same pre-school as my twins at Blossom Creative. It's bizarre... my elder twin told me last nite your son is going to 1K and judging from your nickname which is part of your boy's name, I think it's probably him...

We've never met before so....helloooo online in this virtual world!!

My boys are in 1A and 1B. I decided to split them up for a variety of reasons. They are soooo looking forward to this new adventure!

I just went into Popular's textbook ordering website. They only offer P3 level not, others. So I guess we need to buy from TNS book shop then ? :?

The VP, Mrs Wee is also leaving. but they got a new VP into the school abt 3 months back, probably to handover from the old VP before she leaves.

Three months for handling over...that is quite \"administrative\". I mean the time is too short for a person to understand the culture of a 103 years organisation. Three months maybe is sufficient to understand the people and processes of a large organisation.

It is interesting to see what are the major changes in academic focus, having both the Principal and VP changed at the same time.

Mr Tan will be Superintendent for N5 zone, under MOE. A promotion I would think.

For benefits of future parents whose kids are going to Tao Nan


This year’s orientation took place on 21Nov (first Sat of year end holiday) from 9 am to 11am

The school bus operators will be there before 9am, so go early to discuss with them if you need their service & avoid queue.

Upon entering the hall, the kids will be seated in front on the floor according to their classes. Parents will be at the back on chairs.


Programme was

1. Performance by chinese orchestra
2. Performance by wushu

- at this point, the children will be led to their respective classes and to tour the school premises -

3. Speech by Principal
4. Speech by Marine Parade RC, Police & LTA on road safety
5. Speech by PSG chairperson and PSG Daddies Rep
6. Speech by Dental Therapist followed by video on health programme

Parents will there proceed to their children’s classroom to fill in a stack of forms:

a. Pupil Data form
b. GIRO form
c. Dental Consent form
d. PSG contact list
e. Pupil Updating form

After completing the forms, parents can proceed to the hall to collect their children and go to buy the school uniforms and textbooks.

To avoid queueing, one parent could skip the speeches and go buy uniform & textbooks. The stalls will have the booklist and PE T-Shirt colour listing.

Normally, the form teacher will be the one leading the children to the classroom and the one meeting the parents in the classroom to fill the forms. But, this year, the teachers said that there might be changes to the assignment during the school holidays.
