PSLE 2009 RESULTS!!
-
Hi Vikaesh,
Hv you taken time to see a real sunrise? It is beautiful and in reality it doesn't happen the way you described in your opening line. Why grade here? I'll give you 100% for your memory. However, what we say now don't matter one iota to your results.
Competition is only good for the soul up to a certain point. Go enjoy your childhood, live a happy life. -
Good for you, Vikaesh. Way to go :celebrate:

u talking abt PSLE? -
yes, my son not really keen abt me going 2 sch & wants me 2 stay at home & wait 4 his call.

-
My mum always felt that it was safer if parents went with kids to school. But wait in canteen, not outside hall/classroom.
Reason being if results are disappointing, at least parents are there to support. But stay in the canteen to give your child some private space to reflect on his/her own results.
Also, they don’t want you to mingle with other parents cos you’ll find out how many marks his friends get and start to compare.
Maybe offer to wait in the car? I personally feel that it’s better to ‘escort’ them home & celebrate with them or comfort them. With so many ‘child suicide’ cases, if my boy is getting his results, I’ll be rather nervous about his safety too. -
My girl’s teacher said students to reach sch at 12 noon. I think many parents either take half or full day off.

By reading the above posts make me feel really nervous even my child is not getting the PSLE result next week. :scared:
How do we manage this kind of mixed feeling?
- Don't expect too much and too high hope so that we parents will not feel the disappointment.
- Treat the ultimate goal (if you have) as bonus rather than \"must get\".
- Even parents have high expectation must keep to themselves. So that this will not translate into pressure on the child.
- Control the emotion whatever the outcome is.
- Most important thing is give your child a Big Hug :hugs: before you see that result slip and say \"Well done, whatever your result is we will still love you and give you the full support\".
Hope I can do all these when my turn comes.......
-
I will remember to do the last point, it demonstrates you place the child first before his/her grades.
cheers -
It\"s easier said than done. Especially the \"emotion\" part. We have high hopes & there r so many ' wat if?' Anyway, I am prepared 4 the worst, since he could not finish the 'extremely difficult' maths paper plus he could not even finish the sci paper!!!( This is the 1st time he could not finish a sci paper ! :stupid: )SIGH!!!
