You may queue up and buy from TKTS booths, very good discount of up to 50% off. However, be prepared to queue for about 30 to 45 min.

        Where is TKTS booth?

šŸ•ŗ :imcool: :rahrah: 3 more days to my vacation. Counting down to it.

But shopping is really good in US.... things are really cheap especially clothings, shoes, etc... My colleagues from other regions were stocking up as well and shopping is an activity that bond us. My wallet is already crying and I've not even started my vacation yet. šŸ˜“ USD against SGD strengthen alittle recently.... 😢

There are a few TKTS booth. I went to the 1 located at Times Square.
Ask around for direction when you are there. You are not allowed to select the seats but I was given 5th row / 6th row from the front and near the centre aisle. Not too bad for the price I paid.
I enjoyed shopping at Woodbury Outlets. It's really good deal especially now that we have a strong exchange rate but be prepared to queue. That's what I hated most. Queue at entrance and queuing at the cashier. Everything is cheap and you will be so busy hopping from 1 store to another. Have a safe and fruitful trip. šŸ˜„

I am hoping to take my 2 girls (4yo and 6 yo) to LA Disneyland. I am very worried about the long journey and the jet lag. Is this advisable? I am planning for a 12 day trip.

Go & have a blast! The flight isn't so bad with inflight entertainment, food served onboard to distract the girls from the flight. Bring along art & craft work & stickers etc to keep them occupied. They would also sleep part of the time. Besides, Disneyland (purchase a 3-day ticket), go to San Diego for SeaWorld, Zoo & Legoland. There are rides & animal performances within SeaWorld. The Zoo is World Class. You will see animals from all over the World. US is our family's favourite holiday destination šŸ˜„ !

DIY all the way, east coast 2 years ago & west coast twice. Driving is really the best option especially with kids. Can do your own thing at your own time & explore anywhere with a US updated GPS map. Do bear in mind that not all the states are very efficiently run by Public Transport as in, in some states, it takes a long time waiting for public transport. San Francisco is do-able with public transport + day tours. LA/Diego would be difficult due to the distance from one place to another, eg Disneyland isn't near, Universal Studios nor Santa Monica nor San Diego so it is best to drive. Even in Diego, SeaWorld & Zoo aren't near each other. Driving widens your options of accommodation, food, shopping & things to do. Eg, if you drive, you can do disney in the day & get out for a few hours for meal + shopping then return to Disney.

Sorry, can't advise other modes of transport as I've not read up enough to do so.

Just back from 15 days trip to Ithaca, Niagara, NYC & DC. Sunny days most of the time, but not as bad as sg humid weather.

For outlet shopping, I prefer the one at Jersey Garden in Jersey City, New Jersey (near to Newark Liberty Airport). Woodbury is mainly targeting at Asians, can tell from the apparel sizes they carry. Jersey Garden has more selection of merchandise, which we managed to buy shoes from Geox and Aerosoles. For the same Samsonite luggage my bro bought in JG is cheaper than Woodbury, after bargaining with the seller. Also NJ has lower sales tax.

If you seriously want to shop, give yourself 2 full days. We were so short of time, for both outlets we were rushing like mad!

How far is Jersey Garden from NY compared to Woodbury?
