This is utterly unfair in my view.

Is this maid a transfer maid?

        Was the baby full-term?

Find it quite hard to believe cos' the maid should have been a few months pregnant when she started with this employer......so when was the medical check-up done? :yikes: :scratchhead:

I think this has been discussed elsewhere before but it is clear that in this case, while the employer is technically still liable for the costs, they should have a case against either the agency or the doctor who carried out the last medical.

I think there is a chance that some of the doctors are less than rigourous with the medicals, maybe because they do so many. My maid had her most recent one done by a locum at our local GP; although he did the blood test for pregnancy he did not check her stomach which is the only way to detect later stage preganancies. My maid asked another maid who was there at the same time and he didn’t check her either.
