      little patrick:
      Hi

I have successful registered my son to BVPS & the Student Care Centre.

Is anyone can advise me whether should I let my son go to student care centre in this Dec 08 or next year when school reopen? currently he is in the childcare.
I am starting my girl at the student care on 1st Dec this year. She has been very excited about starting at the student care and simply can't wait. The main reason to start her in Dec is to allow her ample time to settle into centre and get use to the new routine.

We figure too much changes in Jan may be quite unsettling and overwhelming for a new P1: new school, new centre, new teachers, new friends, new syllabus, new environment, now double it for primary school and student care. That might be double the stress for her. So we pace it out and hopefully things will be easier.

Hi Jedamum, thanks for your advise. Most likely I will let my son go to student care centre in 2half of Dec 08.

There is another thing that I’m most worry about , my son is a "problem creator" for the teachers & classmates in the childcare centre. I do not know what going to be happen when he in P1 & student care centre…

\"Problem creator\"? Or perhaps just bored from the school? Sometimes teachers can't handle over-inquisitive kids and may mistaken them as problem creator. Since childcare's teacher-student ratio is pretty low, you may need to let your kid know that he will be expecting to join a much bigger class next year.

In P1, the number of students are standard = 30. If you child is just naughty and inquisitive, its ok as there will be other naughty boys in a big class. But if you child is hyperactive, then he may be disliked by the teachers as he is too disruptive; you may want to seek some social group behavior/psycho help from KKH before he reach P1.

              Thanks matrix0405 ,

we have bring him to NUH, what the doctor have told us, he is very active but not hyperactive and his concentration is short. Because he can not get along with the teachers & classmates, the doctor also advise us go for "social group behavior" treatment but all the time lots are fully booked for this year have to wait until next year…

                Hello!

We are a Finnish family who has just moved here for to stay for 9 months. We have a daughter who just turned 7. Our native language is Finnish. Our daughter speaks English after attending an English playschool in Finland. She would only start her primary school in Finland next August.

We would like to find a local school for our daughter for this short period. We are not that interested whether the school is one of the top schools. Actually it might be easier for her (because of the language) it there wasn’t that much pressure with the homework, exams etc. We just would like to give her the opportunity to learn about Singaporean culture, get some local friends and learn more English etc.

I’ve asked many schools if they’d take her in. There seems to be vacancy for this short period in Bukit View Primary and Dazhong primary. Can anyone share his experiences with those schools?

                Thank you.

                  Hi all,

My son will be in P1 in 2011, but now I am thinking which primary school to register. Is it a bit too early, hehe?

I am considering catholic primary school, considering St Anthony's Primary School at Bukit Batok st 34. Any other parents has their children studying in this school? Any info or feedbacks?

                  Thanks and cheers ya :celebrate:

                    allseasons,
based on http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/bukit-batok, phase 2C requires balloting for those staying within 1km. considering where you live, if you can't get in through church affiliations, you have to do PV in order to secure a spot at Phase 2B.

Thanks Jedamum.. yes.. should consider PV too. I calculated our apt is within 2km from St Anthony. Heard from friends, they said De lasalle at CCK is even more difficult to get into compare with St Anthony. Is it true?

Btw, I send a private message to you from this forum, re the kindie in other thread. Hope you got it.... Thanks ya..
