Lim Jeck and his siblings are all math geniuses and all from Queenstown Pri School .... no need to lose heart nor feel desperate ... your kids could be the next Lim Jeck or Lim Minhi all, i'm desperate...
me and hb came from neighbourhood primary schools, the only school within 1km is queenstown primary school and i'm too late for parent volunteer for most schools! what should i do?? my girl is born in 2007 and i have a son born in 2008... -

Keming is the best school there. If not try Bukit Timah PS, the environment more conducive.Hi all,
Getting excited with the coming registration for my kid. I need advise which school to go for as my first choice:
1) Keming Primary School (< 1km)
2) Princess Elizabeth Primary School (1km - 2km)
3) St Margaret Primary School (> 2km but have affiliation)
4) Bukit Timah Primary School (1km - 2km)
This is the first time registration and I have a son. Actually we would prefer St Margaret Primary School however we are considering the distance as well plus we have a son to register very soon. Princess Elizabeth is another good one which we are aiming as it's a mixed school. However we are out of 1km. What do you all think? -

Hmmm....both you and your hubby were from neighbourhood schools and I presume both of you are living comfortably now, right? So, why need to feel desperate just because the nearest school from your house is a neighbourhood school?hi all, i'm desperate...

it shows that output from 'neighbourhood' schools made it good
validate MOE's position that all schools are same good -

uh cos we're only average salary workers and as parents we all want \"the best for our children\".it shows that output from 'neighbourhood' schools made it good

just that everyone else has a plan except us (friends come from good primary schools) and now we're panicking!
we're a little too laidback and now feeling the pressure of not doing enough for our kids... people are asking us which school we sending our kids and we're like uhhhh.... -

Hi anytanz,
uh cos we're only average salary workers and as parents we all want \"the best for our children\".

There is no need to panic and feel any pressure at all. Do you seriously think a branded primary school can make a difference in the academic performance of a child? It's the child's innate abilities and the subsequent nurturing that makes the difference. If the child is intelligent, he will do just as well in any primary school in Singapore.
Thanks,

it did occur to me that too but just that there's always this worry about \"better school with better teachers/system\"...
guess i need to chill and go with the flow...

Average salary workers but still decent living, right? Actually, you are right that parents want the best for their children. However, most parents end up making decisions that they think are the best for their children. But, are they? JMHO.uh cos we're only average salary workers and as parents we all want \"the best for our children\".

Anyway, you know you are late in doing anything now. Does panic help? Does feeling desperate help? Eliminate the \"noise\" in the environment and you will feel better. No point fretting over something that you cannot control. If you are registering this year, there is really nothing much you can do even if you panic and feel desperate. So, just let nature takes its own course.
BTW, we didn't do anything for our children, too. They are now in a happily studying in a neighbourhood school. -
