Read something about this suite called 'Chairman Suite' which costs almost $13000 a night. Size of 5 room flat, with 2 bedrooms and even a resting area for round the clock guards and 5 meals a day...erm, birds nest and abalone?

      For the rich and famous.
yup, bragging rights for them. HK actresses compete for most ex delivery suite there and those who married men with very deep pockets even book the entire floor so there will be total security and privacy.

        phtthp:
        why so ex ?

inside hospital ward got golden tap for patients to wash hands ?

when a person is sick suffering from cancer, last thing they want is to clock up expensive hospital bills treatment, even if they're very rich. They just want to know:-

        i) got cure or not ?

ii) if no cure (eg: advanced stage of cancer cells spreading rapidly to other organs) - at the very most, how many more months to live ?

iii) how to reduce pain from chemotheraphy treatment, morphine pharmaceutical drugs injection, etc?

iv) any miracle healing, if doctor tell patients \"No hope\" ?

this hospital is designed to rip rich patients off $.
ask youself:- do they really have the heart or mood to treat patients cheaply ?

sometimes, i wonder - where are the doctors of Korean \"Da Chang Jin\" type nowadays ? non existant ? What happen to their ideal / morals (if any), when they first pledge to be a doctor in the first case, to heal the sick regardless of poverty or condition ? if $ is what they are after, better that they become Investment bankers, instead of becoming medical doctor.
I think you are making unwarranted allegations on the hospital and the doctors on their ethics. If you are unwilling to enjoy treatment in luxury and privacy, you do not have to go there. Are they using your taxpayer's money to build the hospital ? Are you being denied medical treatment in a gov't-funded institution ? Being designed for luxury does not mean no heart to treat patients ..... which type of grape are you ?

No lah…if the very rich want to come to SG for treatment, they will still want to enjoy some privacy.

There may be rich and famous people too…they are willing to pay. Maybe some HKG big star will come here to deliver baby to escape from their scary paparazzi back home.

In this case, I think yes. Their potential customers are either the rich, the famous or the powerful (maybe all three?). If medical service not up to standard, sure Kenna sue.

If doctor, surgeon or some other medical staff screw up, sure kena jelak jelak. Rich paying so much. If patient doesn't get cured, expensive name will be tarnished. There goes Mt Elizabeth Novena.

Sometimes it could be an "open and shut" case (e.g. Suspected got cancerous tumour some where. So open up and plan to cut off. But end up the cancer has spread all over, cannot cut so sew back). Then this is "no cure" (since the problem is still there after stitching up). However, the patients probably have no case in such instances.

But if negligence or. Sub standard service, then ah… Got case to sue.
