That's exactly what I did with my son. But Kawai wasn't right for my son; he couldn't click with the teacher. They also increased the fees. So after a couple of months, I stopped Kawai. Now my son's with Award Music School in Katong Mall, a family-owned business. Hope this will last longer.

            Hi Cin,

Trinity is as recognise as ABRSM but ABRSM is more popular. Since she is in JXC, there are a lot to catch up on note reading and rhythm counting. I have a transferred student from JXC. Just completed and i am trying to catch up with what she has missed during JXC in order for her to go on to the next exam. Hence if you have the intention to withdraw her, maybe you should act fast if you are keen on more serious learning then music appreciation.

The owner of award music sch used to be from yicha. Now she and her daughter runs the school personnally. I know her daughter personnally and often discuss about students etc ๐Ÿ™‚

Is the owner's daughter named Carol? My daughter is currently taking lessons from her - she's the only one that can handle my kid! She's simply perfect for young children.

Hi Chief/Pianojazzy, my 3+ girl will be completing her little notes classes in Yahama this weekend. She will be progressing to Little Wonderland in October but the time slot available currently is not suitable to our schedule. Able to share more info about Award Music School ? Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

HappyAvon, you might like to try asking if award accept children at this age. I think they do.

                        MMM:
                        Hi,

My kids spent 1 year in Ossia (affiliated to Christopher) and spent around 1 year there. But subsequently due to change of teachers and bad ones, I moved them to Kawai at the beginning of the year. They had tremendously improvement compared to the amount of time they had spent in Ossia. Fee is around $110 for weekends as compared to $60+ for Ossia. But I think the teacher quality makes the diff.
                        MMM,
Which Ossia brunch did you go to?
and how young did you start your kids at Ossia?
                        Is it that bad?
