I am looking for a female piano teacher to teacher my child who will be 6 this year. The teacher must have at least a ABRSM Diploma or ABRSM Certificate of Teaching qualification, or equivalent with years of experience. Location is within walking distance from Sengkang MRT. My child has just completed Yamaha JMC 3.

What do you look for in a music teacher?

I think it depends on what you want the student to achieve. To enjoy music, and not concerned about the level of achievements? To speed through all the exams? To participate in and win competitions? To achieve each of the above, I feel it requires different attributes from a teacher.


Of course, the basic requirement is that the teacher is suitably qualified, imparts the correct techniques, and can click with the student.
