This Christopher pang's mind has been poisoned too long (中毒太深,没药可救)18 years! Pity him.

Now the most important prayer is for...... his still deluded followers. 🙏
My personal observation based on friends' FB is that as a result of this incident, it led christians to be \"divided\".

        group 1: goat
        group 2: sheep

Actually the division among traditional Christians and evangelical independent Christians has always been there, it's just that this incident magnifies and put it in spotlight. When I was in CHC, Kong Hee always said repeatedly 'christians from denominational churches are lukewarm Christians'. Yes those were his exact words; that was a view that many of my ex church mates shared as well. And then when I left the church and switched to a Methodist church a lot of my church mates think that Christians from churches like CHC are brainwashed and misguided :rotflmao: But it is good that this incident sparks fruitful discussions among Christians and allows non believers to learn more about the faith also.
As far as my faith is concerned, we have been warned of evil monks and sages that poison our minds and send us to hell.

The news says that the maximum sentence for the amount that KH is falsifying is life imprisonment or 20 years imprisonment+fine.

This CHC incident also reminds all Christians that we shld NEVER idolise or worship the pastor, no matter how charismatic he is. A pastor is also human, is also subjected to temptations like greed, sex etc. A pastor can also fall from grace if he is not vigilant with his heart and mind. Just like any one of us, a pastor is also a sinner saved by grace.

And if KH is found guilty, I hope he rights his wrong by apologising and asking for forgiveness from his church members. I think that is the least he can do for these people who have placed so much trust in him.

But he can always claims that he is gifted and is the puppet of god. He can even speak in tongue and receive message and revelation from God.

Personally I will be very wary of any preachers who claim such. We are just vessels of God and we cannot invoke these gifts on our own i.e. it is up to God to let His powers work through us.

Is it only me and my old eyes?
Or do anyof you see a resemblence between the Kong Hee and his wife.
The face especially the jaw structure, the nose, the mouth set- so alike in this photo

I was at one of their services once when KH preached something about married life and what he said :yikes: :yikes: He literally told the female congregation to go for cosmetic surgery so as to continue to be attractive to their spouses. I am therefore not surprised that both husband and wife went under the knife. Besides, KH does look different from what he looked like few years ago. During another service, his no 2 told the congregation that they would 'teach' those who wanted to speak in tongues. I was :yikes: :yikes: but DS2 told me that it was a slip of tongue cos he knew it can't be taught when I remarked that one can't be taught to speak in tongues. For those who are curious, I attended CHC for a short while with DS2 when he joined his school friends who invited him to CHC. I wanted to know who he was mixing with as I heard a lot about this church and was concerned. To be fair, those youths that DS2 mixed with were very polite and well-behaved and that gave me the confidence to let DS2 to join them. However, when news broke back in 2008 about the alleged misdeeds, DS2 left cos he was disappointed.

Just another hard core follower of KH, that's all I can say...

To all his hard core supporters, I only have this to say: just take a look at SH's various MTVs, does she have to portray this image to win unbelievers to Christ? A picture speaks a thousand words...

As to whether KH is guilty or not, God knows and the truth shall prevail.

Agree, I also urge fellow Christians here to pray for Kong Hee. Despite all these allegations and charges, no men/women should be denied of any prayer and God's love. If he is indeed guilty, pray that God will open up his heart and that he will ask for forgiveness and repentance. If he is not guilty, pray that he will be vindicated.

                        N.Lo:
I was from CHC. I left about a year ago because my wife wanted us to be in the same church. Until now, my leader in CHC keeps in contact with me. They do not treat us like outcast because we have left. I would say that the people in CHC are not blind followers of Pastor Kong. We have seen how much he and his wife has impacted lives, and how the cross over project has built orphanages and done a lot of good.

I myself benefitted a lot from his teachings. Sometimes, we are quick to judge and 'celebrate' the bad news but nobody wants to hear all the good that is done and remember. Even if people say I am stupid to believe in him and to stand for him if he is guilty, I will do that. I cannot forget all the good that this couple has done.
I agree with you as I've attended some of their services and got to know some members. They have done a lot both here and overseas, helping the poor and spreading the gospel. They are well organised and the youths are trained to be leaders which benefits them in the market place. Those who claimed that they are compelled to give and serve etc may feel this way cos they didn't know how to say no. We must remember that for pastors and teachers, 70% of the teachings is from God and 30% from them cos they are human. What they teach is what they interpret from the bible. The congregation has to be discerning and not follow blindly. The key is to check whatever is preached against the bible. KH built CHC with some youths from a handful to 30000. For this, I :salute: them. Compare CHC to other churches, they are successful in many ways. Besides, NC there is no other church in Singapore that has attained such widespread international recognition. However, being a young church with no 'parental' guidance, they must have missed out on good old sound biblical teachings e.g. SH music career as a vehicle for evangelism is a good idea but the type of video she produced  Their idea is to impact the marketplace but one doesn't have to stoop that low. I have always disapproved of her dressing and christians from other churches have voiced their disapproval many times. We are not saying that christians should be square or wrap themselves up like dumplings but the church should teach the female congregation on proper attire and this is usually the job of a pastor's wife. Yet, SH as a pastor's wife also dress like that... :slapshead: :stupid: CHC is an independent church unlike other churches like Methodist or Anglican for example which has a long history with a governing body. Growing up with youths also means that they are full of drive and dare without any reservations then. One of their secrets of success is they are able to connect with the young. Of course their heads also swell when they become mega and thought that with God they can do anything liao. :siam: They must have forgotten that though God's blessings is abundant, they themselves must grow and bear the fruits of the Spirit. :slapshead:
